Karl was a EMT for 2 years now. Everyone he worked with said he was a brailliant EMT. Even when he was getting evaluated by the chief, he thought that Karl had some gift. He always knew what to do on scene and somehow always knew what the problem was. One time he got a person who was shot in the chest and the person was out. Karl someone how knew that he was bleeding in the inside and did everything to save the person and he lived. People thought Karl was so good they placed bets' on him to see if he would be right, which when they got the results back in the hospital he always was. The thing that made it so unbelievable was that Karl was only 20 years old. When he was 16 he applied to the school and started taking classes online and got the job at 18. Karl loved to help people but didn't want to be a doctor. His dad was a doctor and noticed how he wouldn't come back home until days later. He didn't want to work long shifts, long school, and long hours of stress. At least with this job it didn't take much school, it was affordable and once you dropped of patient you sent them to the hospital and just had to wait for the next one. It was like you get little breaks in between calls. His dad was kind of upset about this because he knew first responders don't make that much money and worried how he would support himself. In fear he helped him with school and placed him in a small apartment. Karl told him that it was fine but he insisted. I mean his mom was a layer and his dad was a doctor so they had money. But he never got to see his mom often because she was a layer for everyone in any state. So she would always travel to somewhere else to help them, basically she was everywhere else except home. So Karl did end up building a good relationship with his dad since he was the only one sort of home. Even when he was 15 he came out to him as gay. His dad supported him gracefully and allowed him to express his feelings. But that was enough backstory. 

Karl was in the passenger seat with his partner Holly. Holly was 25 so she was quite young as well. They understood each other inside and out and loved each other. I mean they were with each other for 12 hours a day but even after that they would still talk. They were now in the ambulance, "So do you have a hot man to be your valentine?" Holly joked. Karl rolled his eyes, "No and I could ask you the same thing." Karl said. "Well I might i don't know." She said smiling but keeping her eyes on the road. "WHAT? Come on you have to tell me" Karl said excitedly. "Well his name is Kyle and we met at a cafe." Holly said smiling. "Ugh I'm so jealous right now." Karl said leaning his head back. "You will get your time soon." She said. Then they got a message on their radio that said there was a 20 year old male that had dislocated his shoulder.  They responded and headed over. 

They made it to the place and it was a advidge house and the guy was sitting on the porch with his younger siblings it looked like. Karl grabbed his bags and instantly realised the guy was super cute, and hey he was the same age as him. But that's not the point we need to help him. Karl walked up the steps, "Hey what seems to be the problem?" Karl asked setting down his bags. "Well I was assembling this dollhouse for my little sister here and I think I pulled something." The  guy said. "Okay what's your name?" Karl asked. "Sapnap, and my sister here is lily." He said pointing the little girl beside him, she waved. "Well Sapnap can you walk?" Sapnap nodded. "Okay then follow me to the truck." Karl said smiling. "Can I come?" Lily asked. Sapnap looked at Karl  with passion in his eyes. "Yeah sure." Karl said smiling. 

Once they got in the truck Sapnap sat on the stretcher and Karl felt on the shoulder to feel for any dislocation. "Does this hurt." Karl asked. "MMMhm" Sapnap said squeezing his eyes together. Karl nodded and started an IV to get rid of the pain and then put a slang on his shoulder. He told Holly they were good to go and made their way to the hospital. "So got any plans for valentines?" Karl asked trying to make conversation. "Nope. No special guy asked me out yet." Sapnap said excitedly. Karl smiled too. Sapnap was cute, good with kids, and liked guys. He already loved him. "Yeah no guy asked me either." Karl said typing on his computer. Sapnap got exited as well. "How old are you? You look young to be a paramedic." Sapnap asked. "I'm 20. Been doing this for 2 years." Karl said. Sapnap got more excited a cute paramedic, who was single, and loved to help people. Sapnap nodded to Karl's response. Lily was still in the truck but she did notice both of them blushing. "So are you going to ask my brother on a date?" She asked out of the blue. Karl looked up and his whole face got red. Sapnap smiled, "Sorry about her" He said. "No she's fine. I mean I can give you my number just so you don't call 911 again." Karl joked. "I would like that." They both exchanged numbers and talked a little more until they made it to the hospital. The back doors opened and holly helped Karl take Sapnap out. 

The were cleaning the truck after Sapnap was dropped off. "So I heard you got someone's number in the back ay?" Holly said changing the stretcher sheets. "Yeah maybe." Karl said smiling. "Looks like you have yourself a little boyfrienddd" Holly said dragging the d. "I hope so." Karl said smiling at the thought of him.

A/n: Short chapter I think. Maybe a part 2 if you want???? Anyways hope you enjoyed. ANd sorry for the long back story that kinda didn't have anything to do with the plot lol. Wrote this on a monday night at 10pm.
