Chapter 4 Hunt or Be Hunted.

A lot of Hunters made Kugamayama City their base of operation since there were a lot of ruins around it. As such, there were a lot of shops aimed at Hunters in the Lower District.

The Lower District is where many shops for Hunters were set up. And one of those shops was a general shop called Cartridge Freak.

It sells ammo, guns, and defensive armour, for new and veteran hunters.

The shop was not bad for it to go down anytime soon, but at the same time, it was not prosperous enough to open a second shop. It was common to find such a shop in the lower district.

Shizuka was the manager and the only person running the whole Cartridge Freak.

Thanks to the hard work from the management and a good collection of weapons, many new Hunters bought their first equipment there and continued to be its patron.

But then some of these Hunters would stop coming to the shop not too long after... 2 main reasons for it.

First, some of them continued raising their ranks and Shizuka could not provide any guns that were appropriate to the place that they go to, so they became another regular in the other bigger shops.

The second reason, some of them went to the wasteland and lost their lives there. If you ask which one was more dominant, the latter case was more dominant.

Shizuka is a beautiful girl. There were a lot of people becoming regulars in that shop to woo her.

In her line of business, it was common for her to hear things like the guy who flirted with her the other day being found dead the next day.

Since it was something unavoidable to her as long as she was doing that business, she would just forget it and continue working. But she decided to never date a Hunter.

3rd POV

Just like always, that day Shizuka was sitting alone at the counter watching the outside while waiting for customers, and then someone that she had never seen before came in.

That boy was Rimuru. After he entered the shop, he was looking at the exhibited weapons and the catalogue display.

After that, he looked at Shizuka staring for a while. Shizuka too didn't know why she stared at the boy for a while maybe because he looked feminine to her but not long after she breaks the silence between them and greets Rimuru with a smile.

Shizuka: "Welcome to the Cartridge Freak. I'm Shizuka, the manager. Nice to meet you."

Rimuru: "Nice to meet you Shizuka-san, I'm Rimuru."

Shizuka observed Rimuru for a bit, and she noticed the clothes that Rimuru was wearing looked high class, and this caused Shizuka to misunderstand Rimuru.

Shizuka: "What are you doing here in the lower districts of Rimuru?"

Rimuru: "Hmm? I'm here to buy a weapon and ammo. I'm a Hunter."

Shizuka: "A Hunter?"

Rimuru: "Yes, I just registered myself not too long ago. So, I'm looking for weapons for a novice like me."

Shizuka: "Aren't there better weapons inside Kugayama City?"

Rimuru: "I don't know but they said if I want to buy weapons for a novice it would be better to buy here in Cartridge Freak."

Shizuka: "... You're not a kid from inside the walls?"

Rimuru: "Huh? No, I'm not. Haha, what makes you think that? I'm just a kid from the slums, I just started hunting relics the other day and got lucky."
