Chapter 23 Cyborg Thief vs An Agent of the City?

Inside Kugamayama City.

HigherUp: "Have we still not made contact with the Temporary base?"

Staff: "No not yet, sir. We can't do anything until the colourless mist surrounding us clears up."

HigherUp: "Shit and I wanted to resolve this issue of relic thieves as quickly as possible... There's no other way. We'll have to do this directly. Order some Hunters to go to that base."

Staff: "Understood, I'll give the order immediately."

Somewhere Underground the Yarata Scorpion Operation Base.

2 Power Suits were walking leisurely and got attacked by other Hunters after they've been informed that there are thieves underground.

Though they were taken out and shredded to pieces quickly.

???: "Since Yajima is gone and the Hunters already know about us it'll be better to leave the rest of the relics and move away from this place."

???: "Yeah, you're right. But aren't you taking this lightly Nelia? Yajima was your boyfriend right?"

Nelia: "Kayn, I don't dwell in the past, you know?"

After that, the two decided to move away but they had trouble gaining access from the truck.

Before Yajima dies he set up a post-death denial program for the truck they were using.

Nelia: "Now that Yajima died, the insurance got blocked. As well as the payment for the job."

Kayn: "But we can't get the relic if we don't unblock that. Nelia, do something."

Nelia: "I can't do anything here. Better just forget about it."

Kayn: "Forget about it!? You must be joking! After how much we spent on this plan!? How the hell could we abandon the relics that could net us so much!?"

Nelia" "What are you saying? I never said we were going to abandon them."

Kayn: "... What are you saying then?"

Nelia: "We simply abandon the idea to try and circumvent the denial program but there's another way to resolve this, don't you think? We kill this kid."

Nelia pointed at the program showing Rimuru's face.

Rimuru arrived at the Drankam base with Reina in his arms clinging to him. There he was greeted by Shiori.

Shiori: "Welcome back, Rimuru-sama."

Rimuru: "Are you okay moving your body Shiori?"

Shiori: "Yes, Rimuru-sama. Thank you for asking. And thank you for rescuing Milady."

Rimuru: "No need to thank me. Anyway, we need to put her to bed so that she can rest comfortably."

Shiori was about to get Reina but tightened her grip the moment she felt someone pulling her.

Shiori made a face as she was worried that she might trouble Rimuru any more than this.

But Rimuru only smiled and asked to lead him to where he needed to put Reina to rest.

Shiori: "I apologize for bothering you more than this, Rimuru-sama. Please follow me."

Although many people were looking at them they paid them no mind. Though this will make Katsuya jealous as it'll become the talk for a while in Drankam.

Shiori: "Here Rimuru-sama, please put Milady on this bed."

Rimuru: "Now, about the reward, just send me the money and about what you owe me... Let's just talk about it when the time comes."
