Sara & Elena's POV

Sara: "Although I did not expect much, I never thought that it would be this fruitless."

Elena: "If it was that easy, someone would have already discovered it. Let's keep going for a while, okay?"

Sara: "Even if you say so if we keep looking blindly like this, we won't find anything. Any leads or something, Elena?"

Elena: "I was looking and following the trace of the kid. If the rumour is true that he found an unexplored area, then some small footprints might lead us there."

Sara: "As expected from you, you always have a unique viewpoint."

Their role was distributed. Elena's job was gathering information, while Sara was fighting. And they were well-equipped for their respective jobs.

Elena's equipment was the I.G.D. its Information Gathering Device, it's a high-tech device for reconnaissance consisting of motion detectors, a sonar map, and advanced scope.

She used it for a wide range of information collection such as mapping the ruins or scanning and locating enemy hideouts. She also had a gun with her but compared to Sara's equipment, her gun was just a light gun.

Sara's main equipment was a powerful gun. Normally, one would use augmented clothes to handle the weight and kick back from the gun, but she was able to swing it around like nothing thanks to her strengthened body.

As for her armour, she was equipped with sturdy armour to handle the situation when she needed to become Elena's shield.

Elena did all she could to answer Sara's expectations. It was because of Elena's superb skills that they were able to get close to Rimuru's tracks in the ruins that were filled with dust flying around. But the result wasn't as expected, so Elena could only reply with a bitter laugh.

Elena: "Sara, sorry I couldn't find any more of it, it's been replaced by adult's footprints. The colourless mist is getting thicker too. My search range has considerably lowered. We should've withdrawn sooner."

Sara: "It's okay, if it gets worse let's just go back. It will be your call to decide when to return, Elena."

While Elena and Sara continued their search, some of the Hunters already decided to try other means to earn money.

◊◊◊

A lot of hunters came to Kuzusahara Ruins because of the rumours and tried their luck to get money from it, one of the reasons they came is because they can't go deeper into the ruins. After all, their equipment sucks, and some were already in deep debt.

That's why despite the Colorless Mist some stayed behind. But they're starting to get irritated, what's the point of searching for something that doesn't even exist?

On one of the highest buildings within the area, there's one person who's looking at everything within his sight and noticing the changes in the movements of some Hunters.

Colorless Mist? Is it some kind of phenomenon you said earlier?

{Yes, master. It only affected a certain area and the area within Colorless Mist is blurred. This mist could also become a problem for Hunters since it disrupts everything and it also affects sounds and smell, both living organisms and machines would have problems acquiring information about their surroundings.}

Do the people here have some chips on their brains since they're affected by this mist?

{No, but since they're descendants of the people of the Old World their genes are not normal, master will have no problem with this mist.}
