Chapter 13 Impossible!! Reckless!! Futile!!

After completing the first task patrol on their way Rimuru noticed that Katsuya had been staring at him for a while now.

Rimuru uses intimidation and bloodlust that only Katsuya would feel.

The other girls notice that Katsuya was sweating profusely and turning pale; they keep asking what's going on but Katsuya doesn't answer; he only continues stealing glances at Rimuru with awareness and a hostile gaze.

Soon they arrive at an open field near the border located next to the wasteland and since it has a vast area, it was occasionally used as the meeting ground for the Hunters who took certain requests.

Many portable shops were also set up here after taking a specific request from the Hunter Office.

Rimuru gets down from the portable truck and proceeds to register his Hunter ID to confirm that he has already finished his 1st patrol.

The base reward for the patrol is 5000 Aurum and an additional reward if you exterminate a monster.

Rimuru defeated 66 monsters from his 1st patrol, the recipient who is in charge of checking the confirmation stares at Rimuru and smiles.

Recipient: "Thank you for your hard work. You still have 2 hours before the departure, you can do whatever you want while you wait but if you're late in boarding the vehicle, we'll take that as abandoning the request."

Rimuru: "Thanks. I guess I'll fill my stomach first."

Rimuru approached one of the portable shops that sell hot steam buns, which can restore stamina and fatigue although they cost 1,200 Aurum, Rimuru bought 10 of them thinking he should visit Sheryl after this requested patrol.

He was enjoying the steamed buns when Elena and Sara approached him.

Elena: "Ah! Rimuru! As I thought it was you."

Sara: "Hello, Rimuru."

Rimuru: "Hello, Elena-san, Sara-san."

Elena: "Ah, you don't have to use honorifics Rimuru. Sara already told me about it."

Rimuru: "Oh, okay then. Elena."

Elena: "I guess you also take some requests from the Hunter Office huh?"

Rimuru: "Well, the ruins nowadays are getting dangerous after what happened that day. So, I'm gonna take it easy for a while."

Elena: "I see, that's good to know. I know this might be late but I want to say it properly. Thank you very much for saving us back then."

Rimuru: "It's alright. But if you ever get in trouble again you can call me. I'll do my best to help you."

Elena: "Hehehe thank you, Rimuru. Ah, also Sara already said this to me and I too promise you that I won't ask anything unnecessary and I won't reveal this to anyone."

Rimuru: "Ah... Is that so?... Thank you, Elena. I appreciate it."

Rimuru avoided eye contact and this caused Elena to misunderstand that Rimuru still did not fully trust them which hurt her a little, but at the same time, she understood his reason too.
