As warm tears slipped down his eyes, Azulin hid behind a nearby shed. With his fists curled, anger boiled deep within him, "It should've been me..it should've been me!".

'Never be mediocre like your father.' Azulin thought back to a conversation he had with his father many years ago, 'You have to be the best, son. You have to! If you're the best you'll always be loved and respected.'

And so, since his childhood, Azulin has always lived by those standards.

Rage beat at his heart. Unfair, that's what it was. No words were formed, only grunts filled with fury.

"Azulin?" Called out a familiar voice. This immediately snapped Azulin away from his memories.

Accending up the hill, I was greeted with a gust of fresh wind. My (f/c) fur whipped back and forth, as my (e/c) eyes scanned the area.

Wiping his eyes, Azulin looked around the corner of the shed, and there stood, "Y/n.." He muttered to himself. He sucked in a deep breath, waited some moments, then let it out. Anger still coarsed his veins, but it was deteriorating.

I could've sworn I saw him walk up here. My legs ached. After a long, tiring day of training I was more than ready to rest, but I couldn't leave Azulin by himself. Sweat drenched my outfit. My once white tank top stained with tears, dirt, and sweat. My maroon cargo pants also suffered the same fate.

"Azulin!" Once again I called out. Moments passed before I finally got a response. "Over here." His voice came from behind a shed.

He cleared his throat as his heart thumped rapidly. Azulin made sure to wipe off any remaining tears, "What are you doing out here?".

"I came to check on you." As I was now nearing the shed, there stood Azulin. Arms crossed, and laying against the wooden wall.

"You seemed upset.." I continued, "And well, I wanted to see if you were okay."

Azulin grinned, "Upset over what? I don't need a title to know that I'm the best."

He gave himself away. Knowing Azulin's temper, I called bs, but I wasn't going to push it. I blinked and raised a brow, "I guess so. But still, I saw you Azulin, you didn't even congratulate Coco."

Hearing his name come out of her mouth made his blood boil. "Eh. He'll live."

"Well if it's any consolation, I think you're a great soldier." Next to Coco, no one put more effort than Azulin. I admired that, and I felt like he needed to know. Even if he wouldn't admit it, I knew he was upset.

Azulin's cheeks went pink at the sudden compliment. His bright, big eyes stared into mine. "Well I'm glad someone here appreciates me." His big ego was being stroked and he was all for it. Little by little, the anger began to slip away.

"Why wouldn't I? Don't think I forgot about you standing up to that creep." I shuddered as the memories flooded in. "Well, someone had to finish the job. How pathetic! " Azulin chuckled, "Especially after you made him cry for his mom."

I couldn't help but smile, as I too leaned on the wooden wall. "If I could've played the world's smallest violin, I would've!".
