I held on so tight to Y/n's arm I thought just gripping like this would snap her arm like a twig. Her face twisted with surprise as she looked up at me, dangling off of the roof. In the position I was in, it was hard to keep myself on top of this roof. All I has to do was pull her up, but I had to control my body in the process.

"Let go of me!" Y/n squirmed.

"I'm not losing you! Not ever again!" I shouted, trying to pull her up.

Y/n kept trying to pull her arm away to fall 37 stories to her death. There were two options here. I could continue to try and pull her up despite the struggle. Both of us will be alive and we can continue to live a serene life together. She can count the days, weeks, months, and years of sobriety. We'll be able to throw little celebrations each month for the first year and then have big ones every anniversary. We'll have her dream wedding and run off to travel the entire world on a honeymoon. Or we could...

That's it. That's what I'll do.

I closed my eyes and let go of the weight in my feet. I tipped over and proceeded to fall with this girl that needed support and love. Her eyes widened as she realized what was happened. I pulled her close and kissed her. My hand made its way into her hair and kissed her like it was the last thing I was ever going to do. I pulled my face back and tears were flying off her face. The wind didn't feel as sharp and sad as before.

"I love you. Even if that's the last thing I'll ever say to you," I shouted over the wind in our ears.

It was a good thing she couldn't see the ground below. I'm sure it would scare her to see the ground coming closer right before her eyes. The light in her eyes came back. Like she wanted to be alive. Like there was a reason to finally be free and start recovery. There it was. I got that person back.

"I love you, too!!" Y/n cried out, hugging me tightly.

Instead of hitting the ground, the sound of the wind wasn't so strong in our ears. There wasn't a feeling of falling, but it was now replaced with a gentle float. Y/n was still clinging onto me as her head was hidden in the crook of my neck. I looked up at Keigo and that smile of his was plastered on his face.

"Did it work?" Keigo asked, antsy for an answer.

"We got her back," I smiled back.

Keigo held back his excitement as he flew the three of us down to safety. I looked down and Zion was waiting down below. As we were placed down gently, Y/n didn't let go of me. She cried into my chest and I rubbed her back. Everyone here was ready to take the next step.

Y/n pulled away and looked up at me. There was determination, ambition, and readiness in her demeanor. I couldn't help but keep my eyes on hers. She didn't look as sick or hopeless anymore. I put my hands on her cheeks and gave her the most loving kiss of all time. We smiled into the kiss and there was happiness. There was bliss. There was love.

"Okay, that's enough," Zion joked.

Y/n and I pulled away, sharing a small chuckle between us. Y/n looked at the people that she loves that equally love her back. This was stressful. I had to put all of my trust in Keigo to get us before we hit the ground. It's been so long since I have trusted him that much. Not that I ever really trusted him with my life, anyway.

There was now a bond between the four of us. I already had my other friends, but this was just as nice. I have three families now: this one, the one at the place I love, and the one that's dead to me just like how I'm dead to them.

"Let's get you to the hospital, alright?" Keigo smiled.

Y/n nodded, "Yeah, let's do this!"

That's where her journey from drugs came to an end and the road to recovery finally started. It started four days ago, but it wasn't the right way to start. Y/n was kept in the hospital to detox and was kept an eye on for any complications. Was this easy for her? No. She fought with the nurses and threatened to break out to get Xanax and Morphine. Luckily, the hospital has some pretty damn good security.
