A half hour in to the movie Carver began to nod off. I poked Aud and pointed to Carver as she was closer to him.
"Carvuuuh!" Aud slightly raised her voice.
Yet Carv remained in the land of Nod.
"Carvuuuh!" She yelled and light slapped his face.
His snores stuttered and paused for a split second, yet restarted.
"You should covuh his mouth and nose. A loss of oxygen will awaken his senses."
"That sounds harsh.." Audrey froze for a moment.
Audrey sqared her shoulders and placed a hand over his mouth. With her right fingers she pinched his nose and waited with baited breath. The snoring emediatly ceased and his face jerked upward. Next his eyes widened as he began sputtering then smacked at Aud's hands.
"W-why?" Carver gasped as he took lung falls of air.
"You're in dreamland, you big oof." She eye him with a sharp scowl.
"You didn't have to suffocate me neauhly to death!" Carver rubbed his throat.
"Yellin' you're name didn't help." Audrey lifted her nose and sniffed.
"You, why didn't you stop heuh, Ray?" Carver turned to me with an accusatory air.
"Ha! It was Rayven's idea to smothuh you, you whinuh!" Audrey groused as she irately pointed at me.
"Is that true, sis?" Carver stared at me with a hopeful look.
"It's true. I would've done it myself if my arm wasn't busted. Although my fantasy was more thrillin' than the real thing." I placed my right hand under my chin in thought.
"You've fantasized smothuhin' me? Do you know how sociopathic you sound?!" He loudly exclaimed.
"No need to get hypuh. I nevuh once clogged youh airway while snoozin' at the office." I shook my head as I flopped my hand in his direction.
"I hope you've spoken to youh couch doctuh about youh fantasies." Carver grumbled as he tried to scoot his chair futher from me.
"You know this movie is a little dull. Why don't we play a game?" Audrey suggested in hopes to clear the air.
"Fine, but fouh the record the movie isn't dull. His injuries depleted his batteries is all." I grumbled as she went to retrieve a deck of cards from her purse.
"You keeps cards in youh purse?" Carver peered at her as if she had two heads.
"Yeah, you'd be surprised of the amount of times pokuh has gotten me outta scrapes. Plus you can nevuh tell when boredom will hit. So I keep at least one deck in my purse."
"Do you keep it next to youh mini monopoly set?" Carver snickered through his hand.
"Have you been snoopin' through my purse?" Aud angrily plopped onto the plush rug in front of the coffee table.
"No! Neveuh!" He shook his head guiltily.
"Mmmhmmm. I believe you." Aud rolled her eyes as she shuffled the cards.
"I sweauh!" Carver raised his palm and folded his fingers in the sign for the letter B.
"You must be spoutin' the truth if youh bringin' the boy-scouts into the thick." Aud dryly commented as she placed the cards on the table.
"Take it ouh leave it, baby." Carver smirked down at her.
"I think I might leave it." Audrey grinned at Carver's frown.
