As I was sitting at my desk I opened my phone to check the time. I was happy to see it was half past midnight. Which meant Eira would be up, and possibly the chance for her mind to fully wake. I selected messages and tapped on her bubble picture.

ME- do you have a chance for a report

E.C- at the moment I do

I backed out of our conversation and selected my group chat with Aud and C.

ME- i'm giving culpepper a report on our findings

AUD- thanks for letting me know

C- thumbs up

I rolled my eyes as I returned my phone to my sweatshirt pocket. I logged off the tablet and powered it off. I gathered up any physical evidence of the case and I exited the c.r. (conference room.) I stopped by my suite and grabbed my satchel. I stuffed the few notes inside and slung the strap across my shoulder. I exited and headed towards the elevator.

"GOOD'EVE RAYVEN BLOOMINGTON. WE HOPE YOU'RE HAVING A PLEASENT STAY. PLEASE SELECT A FLOOR."

I selected number ten and leaned against the right side of the wall.

"YOU'VE SELECTED EIRA CULPEPPER'S FLOOR. ARRIVAL TIME ESTIMATED TWO MINUTES."

TWO MINUTES LATER....

"YOU'VE ARRIVED ON FLOOR TEN. HAVE A PLEASENT MEETING WITH OUR ILLUSTRIOUS LEADER."

"Someone outstripped themselves at programming the elevator's AI." I patted the framework before hurting towards Eira's study.

I raised my fist to knock yet the voice of Eira haulted me.

"Come in, Rayven."

I squared my shoulders and entered her domain. Instead of at her desk, Eira was standing at her bookshelf. Instead of one of her suits, she was wearing lounge wear. Red joggers, robe, and a shirt. The all red ensemble would seem overkill to most folks. I however felt a same color outfit made the universe feel perfect.

"What's new?" She chuckled.

"We dug around fouh info on this Scarlett Glass woman..."

"And?" Eira prompted as she riffled through a book.

"We found you and youh diseased brothuh's emails."

"You did, hmmm?" Eira whirled around with a stone face.

"We know you're both related to heuh..."

"You're question is?" She moved to stand behind her desk.

"Do you believe she's responsible of youh brothuh's demise?"

"If she were, what would be her motive, Rayven?" She queried as she peered into my eyes.

"She wishes to possess the Culpeppuh fortune. Thus she took care of Roscoe, now you are left."

"I admire your brain, however I don't believe Scarlett is behind it. I've met her and unfortunately she's not the type."

"My apologies, miz Culpeppuh."

"There's no need for an apology. It's pleasing to know I'm receiving my money's worth."

"Good'eve, miz Culpeppuh."

"Good'eve, Rayven."

As I rode the elevator to my floor I texted Aud and Carver.

ME- eira believes her half sister isn't responsible for roscoe
