I opened my eyes and simply layed there. I blinked and lazily grabbed for my phone. It showed it was nine-thirty and no new notifications. I turned on my tracker and rose out of bed. I brushed my teeth and ran my fingers through my hair. I dressed in a bulky sweater and leggings. I entered the living space and flipped on the coffee maker. I poured three sugars and creamers into my mug. I stood in front of the coffee maker and watched it brew. I yawned and poured the liquid wakey wakey juice into my mug. I wrapped my palms around it so the warmth would seep in to me. After I'd finished I sent Audrey a text.
ME- returning eira's journal
AUD- is your tracker on
ME- yes
AUD- we'll wait to have breakfast
ME- k
I slipped my slippers on and placed my phone in my pants' pocket. I grabbed the journal and entered the door leading to Aud's room. I maneuvered through the bedroom and living room. I opened the door in the wall and entered Carver's pigsty.
"no wonder Cuhv likes to share aud's." I clicked my tongue.
"now where would he keep that lock-pick set?"
I checked through some of his pants pockets, yet didn't find anything. I stayed crouched and scanned the room. I caught sight of the two nightstands. I stood and headed towards the closest one. I opened the drawer and it was empty. I stepped around the bed and paused at the second one. I opened it and found nothing in that one either. I walked over to the single painting and removed it. I twisted the knob to the combination of Audrey's date of birth. There was an audible click and I swung open the door. Not only was the lock-pick set inside. His game system, controllers, and games were underneath. I giggled at his sense of valuable merchandise. I grabbed the pick set and shut his safe. I walked through his and then Audrey's doors to mine. I left through my door to head towards the elevator.
"DO YOU KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS, RAYVEN?"
I chuckled at the comment and through the silence.
"PLEASE SELECT A FLOOR."
I pressed the ten and the doors slid closed.
"YOU'VE SELECTED FLOOR 10. ARRIVAL TIME TWO MINUTES."
I hummed a tune and adjusted my feet as I waited for my floor.
"YOU HAVE ARIVED ON MIZ CULPEPPER'S FLOOR. GOOD'EVE RAYVEN."
I quickly sneaked down the hall to Culpepper's study. Though I figured the door anyways. Once it didn't budge I placed the journal on the floor and took out my phone. I selected GOOGLE search and typed, "types of lock picks." In the search it listed a bunch of lock picks. I skimmed down the list till one caught my eye. It was called the C-Rake/Snake. It was shaped similar to a file with a smaller squiggle attached. I took out the pick and inserted inside the hole. I jiggled the pick a few different ways and I heard the slight noise of a click. I returned the pick to the kit and grabbed the journal. I opened the door and locked the curtained door. Only for my personal security, though. I stepped to the bookcase and ran my hand down the row of books. I pulled out the hollow one and opened it to find a journal inside. I set the one in my hand on the desk to pick up the new one. I flipped through it and saw a half cursive font. I placed it above journal one and placed a paper weight on it. I opened journal one and compared the writing. After skimming both pages I found that neither matched.
"Interestin'... Eithuh Culpeppuh is ambidextrous, ouh one belongs to someone else."
"Whelp, can't return journal point one. It begs to defer if Eira even keeps a journal. Perhaps both could be decoys?"
