"How original an exploit, of a fat cat." Carver shook his head in disappointment.
"Cuhvuuuh, For shame! Whoevuh the kid is, they missed out on a complete family. Imagine if Marven, hadn't stuck by you..." Audrey sniffled and ducked her head to hide her tears.
Audrey has such a soft heart when it comes to anyone, especially children suffering. I admired and despised her tears. As she was a true humanitarian, but can never resist her demands.
"She has a point, howevuh the late Mr. Culpeppuh's affaiuh doesn't pertain to ouh case." I reminded both, yet scowled at Carver for Aud's tears.
He was lucky I'd decided to let it go. As usually I'd give any asshole a talking to depending how severe they'd treated her. It also didn't matter if Audrey was the instigator. I'll choose her side till death sees fit to whisk me away. However I wasn't on my time, I was on Eira's, therefore the case took presidence.
"Bu...but Ray-Rayyyy..." Audrey frowned.
"Spritz him back at the suite if you want. As of right now we're broken into our patroness's study. She could be sufferin' from insomnia and decide to tend to work. We'll discuss this tidbit once we're away from this room. Unless the love-child is involved, I'm afraid we can't pursue unless Culpeppuh says to. Though I'll bring it to heuh attention when I report. As such we have to shelve it fouh now, allright?" I raised my eyes trying to mirror the expression I'd seen from my mom.
"You're right, as always. Come on let's scram, incase Birdie ouh Culpeppuh are sleepwalkuhs." Audrey jerked her thumb towards the hallway.
"That's sound... Come on Cuhv. It's time to make like youh ass is on fire and you've got a hot date afterwards." I took hold of his sweater.
"Alright, I- I've nevuh heard that slip from anyone before Ray. I forwarded myself the emails, but I need a sec to chec-."
"Can you continue as we fly towards the elevatouh, Cuhvuh?" I hissed as I yanked him to the doorway.
"Yes, but I one of you'll have to guide me while I finish emailin'." He grumbled as I jerked him along.
"I'll do it." I grinned deviously at him.
"They may sleep in daylight, yet that doesn't mean they don't have sleepless days." Audrey threw over her shoulder as we caught up with Aud.
I tapped my foot impatiently as Aud slid her key-card downward.
As we waited for the elevator to open, I happened to notice a camera."It seems we've been recorded." I huffed in exasperation.
"What? Where?" Audrey and Carver turned their heads in every direction.
"There!" I gripped both of their chins and turned them to the top corner.
"Uh oh." Audrey's mouth froze in a circle.
"And some choice words." Carver added as he waved to the camera.
"What are you doing, don't wave!" I gripped as I yanked him into the open lift.
"Easy, ol' girl I'll hack it and delete us from existence." He patted my shoulder in a patronizing manner.
Though it seemed we wouldn't be caught our nerves were frying. As we waited for the elevator doors to open. We three couldn't keep from fidgeting. I tapped my left foot, Aud bit at her nails, while Carver cracked his knuckles. Once the doors slid open we burst forth as if the cops were chasing us.
"GREETINGS BLOOMINGTON PARTY. LEAVING EIRA CULPEPPER'S SUITE? PLEASE SELECT A FLOOR."
I glowered at Carver and he gave a sheepish grin.
