As if we were at home on a Sunday when Carve and I were still at home. We sat at the coffee table in our pajamas, only Audrey was added to the mix. I had tried to refuse family brunch, however dad stated it was an order. I valued my job and paycheck so I made an appearance. However I had a thought out plan to getaway if step-monster got to me. I despise the peaceful path and prefer to choose chaos. Yet a hint of disapproval from Aud will have me back-peddling. She'd bring to attention how sad that chaos is soothing to me compared to peace. Shame likes to drown me as I listen to Audrey's scoldings. When I'm annoyed at choosing peace, I tell myself I'm choosing Audrey's approval. You might say that's some pressure to place on one soul. I'd argue that there's no pressure as Aud doesn't know she's my voice of reason. So there's only pressure on myself to live up to Audrey's wishes. As someone has to be the voice of reason in my parentless mind. My parents have clearly failed to be proper moral compasses. Though I'm not saying my moral compass is perfect, on the contrary. I hope to the highest plain that I'm not anyone's lady justice.

"Where and how do you plan to do youh case reveal?" My dad queried as he, Carver, and I finished breakfast.

"I'll set an audience with Eira aftuh Jay goes ovuh the autopsy results. To catch our suspect/s I plan to summon the Newarkian P.D. latuh today." I dabbed at my lips with a napkin.

"Excellent. I believe a celebration is in orduh. Is there a half bad restaurant bettuh than room service?" My old man pushed his plate forward.

"The "Lux" is fauh out-of-sight. I'll swing a reservation with the front desk latuh." I grinned at each of my family members.

"A family meal is handy. As it'll allow us to furthuh ouh bonds." My dad beamed with pride.

While my step-monster gave a pained grin.

"The "Lux," isn't that where youh lesbian paramouh works?" My step-monster tapped her chin.

"Harley is bisexual, Elvira and yes she works at there." I gave Carver a glance before facing his mom.

"Youh touchy, touchy girl." Elvira pouted and took up the other side of my dad.

"Excuse us." Audrey linked arms with Carver and I.

I snapped my lips together and obediently allowed Audrey to lead me out. Outside their suite Audrey began tugging us towards the c.r.

"What's the deal, sweets?" Carver commented as Audrey opened the door.

Audrey ignored him and shoved us inside the room. I went and sat at my desk while Carver stood where he landed. Audrey continued in silence as she tugged Carver to his desk. She shoved him into his chair and leaned down at his level.

"I sweauh Cuhvuh, you feed anymore of Rayven's affaiuhs to youh mawum, I'll break it off." Audrey sternly eyed him.

"Sweats, I'm not gossipin' about Rayven to my mawum. She asks me questions and I give a yes ouh no." Carver softened his eyes as he stared into Audrey's.

"It ends, ouh we do." Audrey inhaled and patted his cheeks.

"Of course, Audrey! Sorry, sis!" Carver quickly nodded and turned to me.

"Thanks, bro. Let's get to work." I grinned at Carv and winked at Audrey.

I logged onto messenger on the tablet and selected Audrey's bubble.
