The great mistake

Slow and steady

 "What do you mean by that sir" I said as the fear showed on my face.

"I'm just saying... from what I've heard about him." he said  

"sorry to ask but what did you hear" i asked curiously 

"well i heard that she was mentally unstable so she was sent to rehab and it was rumored that he was the one that actually drove her insane for breaking up with him." Ludwig said as he walked to his desk.

I stood in fear and I didn't realize that  a tear had just left my eye. suddenly, I felt a warm touch on my arm. 

"hey are you ok?" Ludwig asked softly. 

I couldn't help burst into tears. after some minutes of crying I finally got a grip on myself  then I realized that I was in the arms of my boss who was comforting me. 

"I'm so sorry sir" I said as I got up slowly. 

"its ok. you don't need to think about it that much." Ludwig said. 

After some minute of silence   Ludwig decided to check for signal which he got. so he immediately called martins his manager.

"hello mart can you hear me?... hey mart i need you to come to the studio right now and open the door we were locked in... can you hear me???" Ludwig said before taking the phone off his ear. then he cursed angrily.

"what did he say" i asked 

"he couldn't hear me it was breaking" he said 

"so what are we gonna do. you know we cant stay here"  i said 

"how bout we try climbing down the window" he said, pointing down at the window that leads to the road.

"are you mad?" I said. then I realized what I said as I immediately closed my mouth with my two palms

"I'm so sorry sir"  I said quickly while looking down at his feet. then I suddenly heard him laughing. 

"you are so funny he said. i was just messing with you. this is a skyscraper  and we are on the last floor i wont risk it." he said playfully. 

i couldn't help but smile.

"why don't we go through this window" i said pointing at the window that leads to the hallway. 

"much better idea."   he said as he approaches the  window and opens it. he immediately jumped down then he said 

"your turn.. give me your hands" 

with his help i gently jumped down the window. after some few steps we got to the elevator and then he pressed the button but just when it was about to open, the power went off.

"no no no no..." Ludwig said as he pressed the button continuously.

so he put on his phone's torch light as we walked down the hall.

"stay close to me" he said as he held my hand.  

"where are we going." i asked 

"i want to see if we can get out from the back exit." he said 

"what? but that's on the first floor and the elevators aren't working don't tell me you want us to use the stairs"  i said as i looked at him in confusion 

"well do you have a better idea?" he said as he stopped and looked at me 

"well I think its best we go back to the studio and wait till tomorrow when they will resume office" i said 

"i have an interview tomorrow and I don't want to be seen with you." he said as we walked down stairs 

that very moment I felt  annoyed by his words that I didn't know when I lashed out him
