Mattheo's pov:
I could smell salt and hear rushing waves, a light, chilly breeze ruffled my hair as I looked out at moonlit sea and star-strewn sky. I was standing upon a high outcrop of dark rock, water foaming and churning below me.

I glanced over my shoulder. A towering cliff stood behind, a sheer drop, black and faceless. A few large chunks of rock, such as the one upon which my crew were standing, looked as though they had broken away from the cliff face at some point in the past. It was a bleak, harsh view, the sea and the rock unrelieved by any tree or sweep or grass or sand.

I looked around at my crew, Malfoy and Nott were vomiting, Parkinson looked like she was about to faint, Zabini looked terrified, Berkshire looked like he was thinking on who he should help first, and Yn was trying to help everyone, while looking around thinking of a plan.

I could see panic in Yn eyes. I knew she was scared of this mission, and was only taking lead and planning everything so she could make sure nothing happened. But we all knew she got scared very very easily.

I looked away from Yn, and the rest of the crew. I walked up to the very edge if the rock, where a series of jagged niches that made footholds led down to boulders that lay half submerged in water amd closer to the cliff.

I looked back to see my crew right behind me, looking at the very edge of the rock too.

It was a treacherous descent. The lower rocks were slippery with sea water. I could feel flecks of cold salt spray hitting my face.

"Lumos" I said as I reached the boulder closest to the cliff face. A thousand flecks of golden light sparkled upon the dark surface of the water a few feet below were I crouched, the black wall of rock was illuminated too.

I held my wand a little higher and saw a fissure in the cliff into which dark water was swirling.

I knew what we had to do and looked beside me to see my crew's faces and I knew they knew what we had to do too.

I slid from the boulder, landed in the sea and began to swim, with a perfect breaststroke, towards the dark slit on the rock face, with my lit wand held in my teeth.

I heared splashes behind me and knew my teammates had followed. I heard little shreaks from my teammates, from the water. It was icy, ny waterlogged clothes billowed around me and weighed me down. Takimd deap breaths that that filled my nostrils with the tang of salt and seaweed, I struck out for the shimmering, shrinking light now moving deeper into the cliff.

The fissure soon opened into a dark tunnel that I could tell would be filled with water at high tide. The slimy walls were barely three feet apart and glimmered like wet tar in the passing light of my wand. A little way in, the passageway curved to the left and I saw that it extended far into the cliff. I continued to swim, the tips of my benumbed fingers brushing the rough, wet rock.

I found steps that led into a large cave. I clambered up them, water streamimg from my soaking clothes, amd emerged into the still and freezing air.

I heard my teammates clamber up the steps after me, gasping for air and shivering uncontrollably.

I stood in the middle of the cave, my wand held high as I turned slowly on the spot, examining the walls.

"Yes, this is the place" I said
"How can you tell?" Theodore asked in a whisper.
"It has known magic"I said simply.
