"Oh yeah, of course, of course! Would you like to go to her room? It's always messy but I'm sure you know my daughter already."
"Mom!!!"
Emma just laughed at that.
"What? I'm just telling the truth. Anyway Emma, if you prefer, she can come to your apartment so she can look at it."
I was surprised to hear it. She's letting me go?
"Oh no, Sue. It's fine, we can go to her room. I don't want to break her punishment."
"You're such a nice girl, Emma. I'm sure you were not a headache to your Mom growing up." My Mom told her and gave me a meaningful look.
What's that for?
"Ohh, I actually was. I have my stories, I'm sure you and my Mom will have a lot to talk about in that area." Emma laughed.
"Really? Well, if she ever visits, It would be lovely if we can have coffee."
I looked at Anne who was smirking at me. It was like silently telling me that the in-laws and my Mother would get along and I and Emma will live happily ever after.
It's weird I know, but that's what I got looking at her teasing face.
Emma followed me to my room. I was so glad that even in shock earlier, I was able to make my bed, well, not perfectly, but still.
"This is your room?" Emma closed the door behind her and wandered her eyes around my room.
"Yeah." I stood on the side and leaned my back on my wall as I watched her look around.
"It's cute." She put her purse down on my bed and walked toward me.
She closed our distance and smashed her lips to mine. Her hands were on my wall imprisoning me.
On instinct, I grabbed the back of her head and pulled her closer while my other hand snaked her waist.
The kiss was brief but the sensation it brought to me was intense.
She kissed me like she missed me so much, like she could not wait for us to be alone and when we were, the temptation and desire she was suppressing poured out, and this was the result.
"Wow! That was... Wow!" Emma let me go but I stayed pinned in the wall, not moving. It still kept going and I think I needed a few moments to recover.
She sat on my study chair, her eyes glued to mine.
When I was able to move, I sat on the beanbag that was near the chair she was sitting on.
"I told you, I'll find a way." Emma told me smiling.
"You sure did."
"I like your room." My eyes wandered to the four walls of my room. There were no posters in it, unlike some other teenagers' rooms. Some frames have quotations in them hanging on the wall instead. One family picture that was on one of my shelves, books, and some succulents as my decoration. A double-sized bed in the middle and my study table, and the bean bag I was sitting on.
It was actually a very simple room but I'm glad she liked it.
"Jen?"
"Yeah?"
"I broke off the engagement." There was a flicker of light in her eyes.
My heart flutters at that information, something heavy was lifted up.
But somehow I felt sadness in Emma's voice.
"Are you okay?" I asked her.
"Well, I fought with my parents. For the two weeks I did not see you, I was going to their house every other night trying to explain my situation."
