The Ludicrous Escapade Pt.4

Around three years passed in your universe. With you visiting the SBR verse on the regular, the time quite literally went by fast. It had only been five months over there.

And while it was a bit later than you initially planned, with Emporio already well into college, you and Santana were ready to officially move to the other universe. While you'd still visit, they'd definitely be more sporadic. And, eventually, when enough time had passed, there would no longer be much of a reason for you to visit at all.

While everyone you knew that was still alive were certainly sad to see you leaving once more, they understood. You didn't feel like you quite belonged anymore.

The most complaining came from Dio. He had gotten to spend a lot more time with his sons as of late and didn't want to part with them just yet. Then you told him that if they really wanted they could just come with you and that seemed to quiet him a little. You'd come back for them later if they agreed, but you personally found the notion unlikely.

You hadn't even brought the idea up with Giorno. You still wouldn't dare to bring him along. While, from what you had been told, he seemed to be doing somewhat better, you still didn't trust him. You had hardly spoken to him as of late and he seemed to be trying to avoid you. Not that you particularly minded, even if Dio was still bummed about it.

"Where would you like me to put this?" Asked Kakyoin, holding a cardboard box filled to the brim with board games. He and Polnareff were in town and had offered to help you pack up.

"You can put it next to the ones with all the manga in them." Which consisted primarily of Pink Dark Boy at this point. The series had exceeded 200 volumes when Rohan actually finished writing it a month ago. Now he had a new series in the works. You hadn't had the chance to look into it yet.

"Huh..." Polnareff picked up one of the picture frames resting on the credenza in the entryway. A smile, albeit it a sad one, spread across his face. "Do you remember when we took this picture? Despite everything that happened, we still had a lot of fun during that trip. I wonder what they'd all say if they saw us now. Avdol, Caesar, Jotaro, Joseph..." He turned away, sniffling. "Even Iggy..."

Kakyoin nodded along slowly, knowing full well how Polnareff felt. "None of us knew things would turn out like this."

You looked to the photo right beside it. One that showed you next to Jolyne and Hermés at their wedding. "Jotaro never even got to walk his daughter down the aisle."

"At least we knew Iggy died happy." Mumbled Santana, sitting on the floor while flipping through a scrapbook he made a while back that was full of every picture he had with the tiny beast. He had been showing them to Marco, who was currently seated criss cross applesauce beside him. The boy was cuddling a large Silver Chariot plushie that Polnareff had gifted to him. It was one of the more popular pieces of merchandise at Polnareff Land.

Emporio watched the lot of you, frowning. He was on break at the moment and was also helping with moving and packing everything. "I may not have known any of them that well, but I doubt they'd have wanted you all to sit around moping for them. Let's just... get back to work...."

"Right." You started putting all the frames and pictures into a box of their own. You'd be sure to set them up somewhere when you got to the SBR verse. "Thanks Emporio."

"Now." Emporio held up two bags. "These aren't labeled. What they for?"

You turned your head to look. "The clear bag is stuff we're donating and the blue one is trash. Since it's full you can give that one to Yoshikage."

"Okay. Here." He held it up to your stand.

Kira took it without question, blowing it up a mere second later, leaving no trace behind. His ability made the process more efficient. He had no problem being on clean up duty and, in fact, rather enjoyed it. It was relaxing. Simple. Quiet.
