Waiting

You and Gyro had been placed in a cell together. The station was small, so it's not like there was that many places to put the two of you. It was already the next day.

You were sitting on the bench attached to the wall while the Zeppeli laid on it, his head resting on your lap.

Both of your guys' eyes were a little on the puffier side, now. The reality of the situation had finally caught up with you.

Johnny Joestar was dead.

"Someone had to have seen it, right?" Gyro stared up at the ceiling. "A rock falling on his head?"

"Maybe. Rina will vouch for us, at least." You leaned your back against the wall. "If it really comes down to it, we could probably just pay them off. A good lawyer wouldn't be too hard to find, either. Not to mention, breaking out would be a piece of cake. None of them seem to be Stand users. In any case, I would prefer to not have to stay in prison again."

"But, like, imagine if you got sentenced to death over this. They try to kill you and you just heal up perfectly fine." He tried to crack a smile. "It'd be funny to see them freak out about it." His smile faltered. "Though I guess in that situation I'd probably end up sentenced to the same thing, which would end up being a little more unpleasant. My healing capabilities aren't quite at your level."

It was quiet for a moment. Not awkward or tense. Just quiet.

"Did you see what happened with those leaves?" You had barely been able to see it yourself.

"The ginkgo leaves?" He shut his eyes, trying to recall. "Yeah. When people stepped on them, their movements did seem a little odd. Like a brief little jolt or something."

"I've walked down that street before. I've never seen that happen there. And considering how confused the others look, I don't they've seen that either. I'm just wondering if maybe..." You tried to think of how to relate your theory to him. "Maybe part of Johnny's Stand moved to somewhere else after he died. I know it's possible for a Stand to stay after its user's death. Perhaps it happened with him." Even if it wasn't actually the case, you found yourself wanting it to be true. That way he wouldn't truly be gone for good.

It was then Narancia poofed into view. "Hey, are either of you hungry or anything? We still got plenty of snacks in the void room. Kira also offered to cook something up if you want."

He quickly turned around, realizing he should probably make sure some guard wasn't watching. It would be weird for you to explain the food suddenly spawning into existence. There was no one guarding your cell or anything, though. Taking a look at the nearby carbon dioxide emissions told him they were all at the front desk or the break room.

"I think we're good." Responded Gyro. "But we'll tell you if we need anything."

"Okay!" Narancia leaned back on the air, starting to tap away at his phone. Then, feeling a little bad seeing how you were both just sitting there, he held the phone out to you. "I downloaded a bunch of movies and shows the last time we went to the other universe. If you're feeling bored, I don't mind if you want to watch some."

"Sure..." Gyro sat up, combing a hand through his hair to try and straighten it out a bit. He started to put an arm around you, planning to pull you a little closer as he reached for the phone.

Except Narancia plopped himself right between the two of you. "So, any requests?" He started scrolling up and down the screen. "I have the remake of the Pink Dark Boy anime. Supposedly it's a closer adaptation to the manga than the original. I think Rohan even has a cameo in it. Or..." He was explaining this mostly to Gyro. You, of course, already knew about the shows he was describing.
