Joshu was confused at first, but he quickly recognized you. "You're that girl that was with Yasuho." He glanced to the side table, noticing the box of honey sesame seed buns. "Did you bring those for me?"

"No, I-"

"Wow, I guess I just can't help how popular I am with the ladies." He rubbed the underside of his nose, suddenly feeling a boost of confidence.

"I didn't-"

He cut you off again."I guess you're kind of cute, too." He looked you up and down. "Are you one of Yasuho's friends?" He gave a small hum to himself, as if something suddenly made sense. "She must be avoiding me because she knows you like me. That's the only logical explanation."

"I have absolutely no feelings for you." Your voice was monotone. "I don't even know you." You were trying to point out just how absurd his thought process was. It wasn't working.

Joshu ignored you and grabbed your wrist. "I'd prefer Yasuho, but I guess I could give you a chance." He said it as if he were doing you a big favor.

You yanked your arm away, eying him coldly. Staying behind had allowed for an undesired outcome. Although, considering everything that had ever happened in your life, maybe this would've come about anyway. If it helped stop him from harassing Yasuho, perhaps you could even consider it your good deed for the day.

He continued to misinterpret your clear lack of interest in him. "Hey, there's no need to play hard to get."

Kars took form behind the guy, mentally asking you if he should just kill him now. He was already anticipating this Joshu fellow might be a problem later on. While it was an appealing option, you opted for knocking him out instead. You didn't want to have to deal with the whole being blamed for murder fiasco at the moment. There were other things you wanted to do.

Kars gave Joshu a swift chop to the neck. The guy slumped over into his hospital bed.

You let out a relieved sigh. "Thanks, Kars."

A small smile graced his lips. "It's nothing, really." He brushed his purple locks over one shoulder. "I can't guarantee this man is entirely unharmed, anyway. He might end up suffering some brain damage."

Kars followed you toward the door, returning to the void room as you started your way down the hall. You kept your pace quick in order to catch up with Yasuho and get away from Joshu before he had a chance to wake up.

"What's the matter?" You found it strange for Yasuho to just be peering through the doorway.

"He's not there." She took a careful step into the room, trying to see if anyone was lurking in any corners.

The formerly naked man stuck his head out from under the bed.

Yasuho involuntarily jumped back as she screamed. "You scared me! What in the world are you doing?!"

He grinned. "Hey..."

"What are you doing down there?" You asked as you moved closer to the two of them.

"Just what it looks like. I'm sleeping." As if the way he was choosing to sleep was completely normal. "The people wearing white clothes said I can't leave this room for a while."

"No, not that. I mean why are you underneath the mattress?" Yasuho clarified what you had been asking.

"Hm?!" The guy pulled an arm out from under the mattress. "Do people sleep on top? How do they put pressure on their body if they do that?"

"Have you ever tried a weighted blanket?" You figured that would be a more comfortable alternative. He just stared at you blankly, so you continued speaking. "If you're going to be here for a while, I can try and get you one. Consider it a get well gift."
