Mindless

You and Gappy were walking along the sidewalk, following the directions inputted into Norisuke's phone.

Of course, you already let Santana know that something came up. He had opted to chill at the Higashikata house for a while before probably just going back to his hotel. At the time you left, Hato and Daiya had been painting his nails.

You momentarily stopped at a bus sign. "Could you wait here for a second, Gappy?" You spotted the chalk artist you had seen a few weeks ago. The one who had drawn crazy diamond. He was probably about as good of a lead as you could get for a stand user that could fix Dio's scarf.

"Sure..." Gappy needed to wait for the bus to arrive anyway.

"Excuse me, sir." You crouched down in front of him. "You probably don't remember me, but-"

"Nah, I remember. You're that lady who was asking about what my inspiration was." He barely even glanced up at you, continuing to work on his art. "I'm afraid I still don't recall where I saw it."

"That's all right." You pulled out a Speedwagon Foundation business card. "If you do happen to remember anything or see that pink and blue figure somewhere, please contact this number. I promise you'll be handsomely rewarded."

He set the piece of chalk down in its tray to take the card from your hands. He read it over closely. "You're with the SPW Foundation?" You nodded firmly. "I'll... see what I can do." He slipped it into his pocket and got back to work.

With that done, you jogged back over to Gappy who was now being accosted by a child.

"C'mon bro." The kid was wearing a baseball uniform and was shoving a letter toward Gappy. "I'm supposed to give this to you." He slid it into Josuke's hand. "Okay! There. Delivered."

Gappy glanced down at the envelope that had his name printed on the back. "Hey, hold on! What is this? A letter? ...Who's it from?"

"Uh, um..." The kid stopped in place. "I was just told that all I had to do was give it to you. By a man..." He pointed across the street with his thumb. "Around the corner of that street... that guy gave me a reward."

"A man?" You moved to be next to Gappy. "What did he look like?"

The kid shrugged. "I dunno. Well, bye." He started jogging away.

Gappy examined the envelope a little closer, noticing a small lump in the corner. "There's something in it."

"Careful." You doubted it was anything good.

He held the envelope above his head. With the light shining down on it, the shadow of the object revealed it to be a tooth. There was also a faint brown stain on the area around it. Alarmed, Gappy immediately dropped it and took a few steps away.

"Do you think it's a threat?" You initially wondered if they had kidnapped someone. "Or is it necessary to activate a Stand or something?" You had dealt with your fair share of Stands that had weird requirements.

The boy from before suddenly stopped walking and turned around. Now he moved in a staggered manner toward Josuke.

"Hey, stop!" Shouted Gappy, though the boy paid him no mind. "Hold it right there!"

You tugged Gappy back. "Something's wrong with him." The kid's expression was completely vacant. "The enemy must be using him to try and get to you."

The kid then walked head first into the bus stop sign, mindlessly continuing to press against it, arms outstretched. He repeatedly banged his head against it, blood gushing out and his face getting more deformed with each hit.

"It must be automatic." Or else you felt the kid would've been a little smarter with his movements. "But the way he's acting... it's almost like a zombie." Which was something you knew a thing or two about. "I'm gonna guess that you don't want him to touch you."
