"Huh?" Gappy was taken aback at first, stopping the flow of bubbles from Yotsuyu's lungs. "Do they look human again when they die?"
"Did you not hear the deal that (Y/N) made with the rock man a moment ago?" Inquired Wamuu.
Gappy shook his head.
Yotsuyu watched you silently, using all his focus to hold his remaining breath as you took the gloves out of his pocket. He knew he shouldn't have trusted you! However, you then brought your wounded hand up to the hole where his eye used to be, using your own blood to stop it from bleeding out.
Wamuu grabbed a hold of Yotsuyu, who was still tangled in nets. He waited for you to grab onto his shoulder before making his way up to the ocean's surface with the skill of an Olympic swimmer. You extended a hand to Gappy so he could tag along as well.
While Gappy was still a bit confused with what was going on, he accepted your offer. Although, on the way up, he noticed a spiky, pink fruit drifting down over the edge of the underwater ravine.
Yotsuyu gasped for air as Wamuu carried him out of the water. You and Gappy trudged out behind them, clothes sopping wet.
"(Y/N)! Josuke!" Norisuke was happy to see that the two of you were safe. He had been nervously pacing back and forth after he tossed all those nets. "But... what are you doing with Yotsuyu Yagiyama?"
Wamuu gently set the tangled up man on the ground. "(Y/N) agreed to save him if he returned to his human form."
"I was originally planning on letting him die after I got the gloves, but, I dunno..." You shrugged as you wrung the end of your shirt to squeeze some water out. "I'm still peeved about him ripping up Dio's scarf, but I guess there are some things Yotsuyu might be useful for. And, well, Wamuu convinced me to keep my word." The Pillar Man had always been very honorable.
Wamuu gave Yotsuyu a pat on the head, "Admittedly, I was also curious to know more about rock humans, since they seem to be similar to Pillar Men. Kars has been intrigued about them, as well."
Yotsuyu kept his head held up high, though he was genuinely surprised that you hadn't just killed him. "I won't be telling you any information."
"I didn't think you would." You crouched down in front of him. "I won't just be letting you go, though, either. The Speedwagon Foundation will be watching over you for the foreseeable future." You motioned to his missing eye. "They could patch you up, too."
Wamuu handed you your phone, having kept it in the void room to avoid any water damage. You used it to send a quick message. "They'll be here shortly."
"And then what?" Sneered Yotsuyu. "Am I gonna be locked up in a cage for the rest of my life? Experimented on? Just because I'm not human doesn't mean you can treat me like an animal."
"You being human or not isn't the determining factor. It's if you continue making things more difficult than it has to be." You maintained eye contact, wanting him to know you were serious. "We don't have to lock you up to be keeping an eye on you. If you prove that you're no longer a problem, you could possibly even go back to your normal life... I'm being very generous here. I hope you realize that."
Yotsuyu stared back at you, replaying some of the past interactions in his mind until it dawned on him. "You... aren't human, either." He couldn't believe it had taken himself this long to figure that out.
"Well, I used to be human, forever ago. Then I got partially infected with vampirism." You didn't mind sharing that tidbit of information about yourself.
He looked away from you as he saw Tsurugi came out of the hatch. A lot of the initial anger had faded from Yotsuyu's expression, replaced with contemplation.
