San Lang looks at his owner with a smile and laughter, finding his owner's expression adorable.
It's true that he's not related to Xie Lian, as before becoming Xie Lian's shadow, he recalls being at the Shadow Dimension.
This is a place where the shadow association Board of the Shadow world, picks a few deserving individuals who were good in their past lives and pairs them with the corresponding Dimensions; where they'll be with they're soulmate or enemy.
"Crimson rain sought flower! Also known as Hua Cheng" says a figure covered in a cloak, sitting amongst other figures of the same dressing seated at a high crescent table
Hua Cheng finds himself in his 9 year old form, having no memory of anything, just that those names said by that cloaked figure seems familiar somehow, 'so is that my name?', "where am I?"
The cloaked figures smile, clamping their hands together, raising them to their chins for support, one of them says , "you are in the presence of the Shadow Association Council", another figure says, "you are a special case, even though you were both good and evil, you will not be reincarnated, but we cannot let you go to the burning pit for eternity at the same time,"
Another figure smiles and adds, " considering as your actions were for avenging your lover and for their well-being, we have decided that you will not be reincarnated, but we will allow you to be reborn, not as a human, but as a shadow, "
Another figure elaborates by saying, "there are many shadow dimensions out there, depending on your luck, you could be given a chance to evolve into a human over time, but if you end up in an unlucky dimension....... You could be a shadow for the rest of your life,"
The childish looking clocked figure adds, "if you're lucky though, you could end up in the same universe as you're lover!, How cool would that be!"
Hua Cheng looks at them with a blank expression having caught the key in what they've said, "so you're saying that my so called 'lover' has been reincarnated?"
The childish one answers, "yes"
"And I could be assigned to be they're shadow, or to some random unworthy nobody?"
"Precisely!" Exclaims the childish one once more
"so this is more like rolling the dice? If I'm lucky, I could be in the same universe as them and be assigned to be they're shadow where I could get the chance to evolve into a human and if I'm unlucky, I could be in a different universe and be assigned to a different person in which shadows don't get the chance to evolve at all?"
"And don't forget that you could also be in a different universe from your lover but you could get the chance to evolve into a human, just that you'll be alone!" You could probably guess who answered.
