Driver Jun Wu, waiting for Xie Lian outside the studio, saw the two making their way outside and greeted them, which they respond to of course.
Xie Lian, seeing that Shi Qingxuan was at it again, "come on, didn't you receive a call saying that you're family driver is sick?", then he says with a hint of concern in his voice, "we'll drop you home, come on these streets are dangerous"
After hesitating, Shi Qingxuan decides that it's probably for the best, expressing his gratitude, "ok, then I'll have to intrude"
Xie Lian scoffs at Shi Qingxuan's politeness, tilts his head to look at him, and almost whispers, "You know these times are dangerous, so how could I leave you alone?"
Seemingly because of their proximity, Shi Qingxuan heard his words, and they brought a smile to Shi Qingxuan's face and he returned to his usual self, saying, "Okay, don't mind if I do."
On the way back, Shi Qingxuan, repeats the never ending cycle of looking at Xie Lian; seemingly wanting to say something, hesitates and finally stares at the floor.
Xie Lian, sensing his hesitation, sighs helplessly
"Spit it out"
Shi Qingxuan, looking like a rabbit caught in headlights, scratches his nose nervously, and finally musters up the courage to ask, "Can I, um... Sleep over tonight?"
Xie Lian stares at him blankly, wondering what's going on. He thinks, 'So that's why he's been hesitating like his seat is covered in needles.'
Shi Qingxuan, thinking that maybe Xie Lian will disagree, continues in one breath, "It's Friday today anyway so my parents won't mind if it's you."
Xie Lian can't help but chuckle. "Sure, that's why you were so nervous?" he asks.
Shi Qingxuan blushes and nods. "Yeah, I guess I was, considering the last time we had a sleepover was when we were young, I thought you'd disagree"
Xie Lian smiles. "Well, I don't mind. In fact, I think it would be fun."
Shi Qingxuan beams with delight. "Thank you! I'll go pack my things."
Xie Lian tells driver Jun Wu to head to Shi Qingxuan's place so that he can pack
As Shi Qingxuan rushes off to prepare for the sleepover, Xie Lian can't help but feel a sense of warmth and happiness. He's glad to have made such a wonderful friend.
While waiting for Shi Qingxuan in the car, Xie Lian dials his mother, after all he has to atleast inform her on Shi Qingxuan's visit, it instantly connects
"Hey darling"
"Mom, I wanted to inform you about Shi Qingxuan".
"What about him?"
"Well....he's coming over for a sleepover, is that okay?" He asks tentatively
A Chuckle can be heard on the other side
" Of course, he can stay the entire weekend if he wants"
"Thanks mom, we'll be there soon, I'm waiting for him to inform his family as well and pack some clothes"
" Ok, I'll tell Aunty to cook you both something good "
" Thanks mom"
It disconnects with a 'beep'
Shi Qingxuan heads downstairs, together they head over to Xie Lian's place.
