Almost three weeks had passed since the Monaco race. Ellie had avoided everyone since, leaving for New York early that Monday. After her fall out with George she decided to sneak out of the club with Theo and stayed with him until they left.
She had spent all her days at work, trying to make sense of her thought. Since her birthday Sebastian had been occupying her mind and she didn't know how to deal with it anymore. She felt like she wasn't ready to face him, but knew she had to if she would want to continue with her life instead of being stuck in this limbo.
Declan, Lewis and George had tried reaching her every day since, calling and texting, only getting short replies in return. She couldn't be bothered at the moment, but with everything going on she knew that the last thing she needed was to be avoiding two of her best friends and her brother.
Theo had spent every day with her since they got back, either at work or at her apartment. He had talked with all three men that wanted to talk to her, reassuring them he would get her to do just that. And he tried convincing her every day, until she finally agreed she would go to Canada to see them.
In that moment she decided she needed to take charge of her life again, she was tired, and wanted her life back. So she was going to make things right with them, and then take the Sebastian situation head on so she could move on. She had been on a few dates with Kyle since they got back but wasn't entirely sure they were the best match. Sure he was fun, he made her laugh and they enjoyed spending time together, she just couldn't get her ex and a certain Ferrari driver out of her head.
The days flew by and suddenly she found herself standing at the track, looking for Lewis, her dad or her brother. She knew Emma, Anna and Mason was here as well, but she just needed to see her family first. And then there was George. Somehow the fact that he had betrayed her hurt more than the fact that Lewis did. They had a different relationship, she slept with him for god's sake.
Lost in thought she was making her way over to Mercedes, Charles could see her when he was entering the paddock. He had thought about texting her since Monaco, she was stuck on his mind and tried everything to get her off. He tried going on dates, sleeping with different girls. He talked to some of his friends about it, but he just couldn't shake her out of his head. Before he could form a new thought he saw George approaching her. He knew they were in a funk after their conversation, he could read it all over Georges face, but couldn't understand why. He saw Pierre and Carlos and made his way over to them.
George walked over to Ellie hoping that they could finally resolve things. He was dying inside with the tension and avoidance between them. They weren't like this, this wasn't them. And he was going to do everything to fix it. They locked eyes, but when they reached each other they couldn't even say hello before they were joined by Lando, Mason and Anna.
"Well look what the cat dragged in." Lando yelled laughing before throwing his arm around Ellie's shoulder. George just stood there facing her, with regretting filling his eyes. Anna could see how hurt George was about their current situation and felt for him.
"Yeah, yeah, you saw me three weeks ago idiot" Ellie nudged him in the ribs.
"Well you left without saying goodbye so we're aloud to make a fuss about you being here. You didn't even tell us you were coming." Mason chimed in.
"She told me and Emma." Anna defended her friend. She hadn't ignored everyone since Monaco, just the boys.
Carlos, Isa, Daniel, Pierre and Charles were standing to far away and decided to go join there friend. Everyone greeted each other, but before they could get in to a conversation Anna and George lost all color in their face and didn't know what to do. Ellie was standing with her back to the sight that made them almost pass out and couldn't understand why they looked like they saw a ghost.
Before she could even thing about asking them what was going on or turning around to see for her self she heard Isa say something that made her want to pass out.
"Oh my god, is that Chase Crawford and Sebastian Stan?!" She squealed.
Ellie felt like she could have a panic attack, a heart attack, anything actually. She felt numb. She couldnt turn around. She didn't want to look and see for herself. Suddenly George reacted, "what do you want me to do?" He looked at her with so much worry, he knew this was the worst thing that could happen right now. They both knew there was no way Sebastian was here for anything else than her.
"Oh, let me guess, your a big fan as well?" Isa asked, turning her body to Ellie putting her hands on Ellie's frame in excitement, her smile quickly turned confused not understanding Ellies reaction, thinking she was just starstruck. Suddenly everyone's attention was on Ellie after her not reacting, but she still couldn't move or speak. She was frozen in place. What the hell was happening. This had to be some cruel joke
"I wouldn't say that" Anna said answering for her friend knowing how many thought must be doing through the girls head.
"Oh my god they're walking towards us!!" Isa yelled excitedly, Ellie felt like her mind was telling her body too run, now, but her body still was frozen. She couldn't move.
"I'm loosing my girlfriend to an actor today apparently" Carlos joked.
"Not if Ellie gets out of her shock first mate" Pierre chimed in, with a chuckle nudging Charles. This snapped Ellie out of her trance and she sent Pierre, who was standing to her side, a look that could kill. Everyone's attention was still on her, not understanding what was going on. They all immediately thinking Pierre and Isa hit the nail on the head.
"Not now Pierre" Mason said trying to bring some peace for Ellie. Mason Anna and George were all standing in front of her with two of them having their eyes trained on the two actors walking towards them, the latter trying to read the girl he was sure was breaking in slow motion before his eyes.
Ellie quickly cursed herself for turning around, because now in the corner of her eye she could see them clear as day, and knew there was no more running. He had seen her long before she saw him. He was here, at a race, of course he was here trying to see her. So she turned around and saw him approaching. Suddenly he was right in front of her and it was like no time had passed as she looked into those ocean blue eyes.
All the months apart suddenly feeling like seconds and the heartbreak from the moment she left making its appearance once again. She could feel both the anger and hurt that had bottled up all this time coming to the surface, not knowing if she was going to break down, or give him a piece of her mind.
"Sebastian" she managed to breathe out when they reached earshot of them, forgetting that she had an audience that were left dumbfounded about what was going on.
"Hi Eléa" he told her looking her up and down, drinking in the sight of her after not seeing her for months. He couldn't contain his smile seeing her again, even thought the feeling clearly wasn't mutual, he could still see some flicker of hope in her eyes as they were looking only at each other.
Everyone around them was suddenly more confused and couldn't even begin to imagine what would happen next.
