You knew that Larissa would be out of Jericho for some sort of teaching convention that was mandatory. It would only last the weekend but you were terrified that something could happen to your girlfriend while she was gone. Truthfully you knew it was your anxiety talking but your nightmares had returned at full force, you didn't want to tell Larissa and cause her to worry about you all weekend, so you kept them quiet, making sure to not wake the blonde woman while you sobbed into your pillow.Your attachment issues were at full force now, it was destroying you, your past had left such an imprint on you that when anyone important was gone for more than a few hours you immediately assumed the worst, your mind always managed to concoct the most heartbreaking images and scenarios known to man. You'd done well hiding it from her, you kissed your girlfriend goodbye and watched as she drove away before you broke down in tears.
You knew she loved you and would come home to you, she always did, but that didn't stop the dark cloud currently reigning over your head. You knew you could go to your close friend, Marilyn but honestly you didn't want to. Nothing she did would make you feel any better, after all they were not your Isa. You only wanted her and nothing would soothe that ache in your heart.
Friday night, you cried yourself to sleep holding her pillow to your chest as your tears ran until they couldn't run no more. You woke up with the mother of all headaches which made your longing for the blonde woman even worse. It was now so bad that all you did all day was stay in bed, wrapped up in one of her work blazers that smelt like her and slept. If you weren't sleeping you were crying. A relentless cycle that appeared to be never ending.
By Saturday evening a knock sounded on your bedroom door, one of which you ignored despite hearing Marilyn call out for you. You didn't want her. And the thought of putting a smile on to hide the state you were in was just too overwhelming for you to even consider. Marilyn gave up after a few minutes and settled to go and call your girlfriend.
Larissa's heart broke at the thought you had locked yourself in the room, not even eaten much and spent the weekend crying. She knew you struggled but you'd seemed okay when she left, but now she started to realise you were just hiding it. She immediately wanted to come back to Nevermore and hold you, but she had to finish some things in the morning before the drive home.
You were dead asleep when she arrived through the gates of Nevermore, Larissa made it her mission to find you but ended up bumping into Marilyn, only to be informed that you hadn't moved yet. That helped her make a beeline for your shared room and slip into the darkened room. You were snuggled up in her blazer with her pillow looking like a small child. She immediately slipped into bed and you instinctively snuggled up on her chest letting out a little happy sigh.
"My sweet girl, I'm here darling rest" she murmured stroking through your knotty hair. She was content to just hold you until you woke up naturally, "mmmm Isa?" You sleepily mumbled confused at her presence. "I'm here love, why didn't you tell me sweetheart?" Tears shone in your eyes again, "I'm sorry Isa I didn't wanna bother you" you whispered subconsciously snuggling closer to her. "Marilyn tried to check on you love" she pointed out which caused you to whimper, "she's not you." Truthfully Larissa had missed you just as much and was just happy to know you were safe and well, reassuring you for the rest of the day of her love for you.
