You and Larissa had been dating for a year now, and yet you hadn't been able to go public. It was something you understood of course, your job and her position as principal made it complicated. Yet you believed you and your girlfriend were strong and loved each other. Hell you were thinking of marrying her. Yet those would soon become dreams that were unreachable. You made your way to your room in which you were met with a letter, addressed to you in the very familiar cursive handwriting that was only recognised as Larissa. That letter single handedly shattered your heart.

For weeks you cried and hid away, you felt as though you couldn't go on anymore. After all how could she just leave. And no reason as to why. The letter being all you had left to the women. The lack of understanding made it all hurt more. Had you done something wrong? Did she fall out of love ? Why? You wouldn't recover from this and you knew that. Your heart yearned for her so you'd wallow in this self pity for as long as it took. One day the days would stop blurring together and it wouldn't feel like a chore to be alive. One day. But that day wasn't today.

A few months had passed, you regained your normal routines and life, but at night you cried for your lost love, not understanding why she hadn't even bothered to give you closure. Marilyn, a close friend of yours, coached you through the harsh breakup and wiped every tear that fell. Without her you doubt you'd be here now. That is why when she set you up a date with her sister Ophelia you went willingly. Larissa was gone and that means you are free to try and date. The date went well and some a date became two then three, then you became official. It was a change and strange to be so open now with your love. Ophelia was patient and understanding, knowing just how badly your heart had been broken due to Marilyn's insane amount of worry for you. But they say everything happens for a reason, and maybe  Larissa leaving bringing you to Ophelia is that reason.

Date nights with Ophelia Faye were definitely something to remember. The effort and time she put in to see you smile warmed your heart. She took her time to learn your likes and dislikes, what made you giggle and what made you frown. So it was unsurprising for you to be taken on a date to your favourite fancy restaurant to celebrate your six month anniversary. You'd got all dressed up in an emerald skin tight dress and she had dressed up in a dashing suit. Truly you'd never thought you'd like a women in a suit but this suit had definitely won you over. In fact it was the suit she wore to your first date, your heart swooned at the little detail.

On your date you felt a pair of eyes following your every move. It was a strange feeling and it was almost as if those eyes knew every part of you. And that's when you saw her. She was here. Looking directly at you with an undeniable expression of sadness. Why was she sad? She left you, not the other way around.

Truthfully Larissa still loved you and would always love you. She'd left for your safety and seeing you moved on hurt. That women with you should be her. She should be the reason you smile so brightly or that you flush bright red as she whispered in your ear. It should be her hand on your thigh stroking it gently as you basked in the company of one an other. But it wasn't her. And it never would be. You'd moved on and of course she knew she'd hurt you but that wasn't her choice. This was. She wouldn't destroy what you had built for yourself. No, instead she'd love you from afar.

Seeing Larissa definitely spooked you, old feelings of love resurfaced and that caused you and Ophelia to argue. Unfortunately, she knew exactly what had happened and in fact she is the one who contacted Larissa. Ouch. That hurt. She explained that she knew you'd always truly love Larissa and she could never be your person, even admitted she had met her one. The break up was mutual and you both decided to remain friends. Truly soulmates but just platonic ones. She encouraged you to find Larissa and gave you the hotel address and her room number.

You stood outside her room in shock really. Why was life throwing curve balls at you. Yet your heart encouraged you to find her. So you knocked gently. She opened the door with messy hair and red eyes. So unlike her usual put together state. It was truly heartbreaking. "Hi" you muttered dumbly not really knowing what to say. Fate is a funny thing. "I I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry. I didn't want to leave you and now you've moved on and I'm so sorry" she cried her words mumbling together as she broke down in front of you. She hasn't wanted to leave? Then why go?

"Actually Ophelia told me to find you. My heart truly only belongs to you. And she knew that. I know she called you here Larissa. And I'd be lying if I said I don't still love you. But you really hurt me and I can't do that again. I want you but you need to promise please don't do that again. No matter what. Talk to me. We can fight it together." Your own tear's caressing your cheeks. She nodded and mumbled and I promise before letting you in. Once the door was shut she looked as though she was battling herself internally. Arms half outstretched to gather you in a hug yet unable to meet your eyes. You decided to help her out and hug her. She responded instantly mumbling over and over how sorry she was and how she thought she'd lost you. And you just soaked in the embrace you'd been missing. There would be time for talking and you wouldn't give her an easy time of coming back in your life. But right now all that mattered was your heart was home with her.
