The next morning, an alarm went off. Did I forget to turn it off? I smash the snooze button and throw the blanket over my head.

"It's time to wake up, Lianna." It was Alduin. I peeked from the blankets.

"What do you want?" I asked him. "It's too early for this shit."

"You need to learn something to defend yourself if they show up in your dreams again." Alduin had his arms crossed. He was shirtless, wearing basketball shorts.

"Why do you care all of a sudden?" I managed to get up. The room starts to spin. Bad idea, bad idea. I lay back down.

"Because, I need you alive to return to my true form." Alduin spoke. Did she think he cared for her? She was wrong. After Aemma, no mortal would ever have his love or respect again.

"So you're giving me the weapons to defeat you?" Lia raised her brow. She was a lot smarter than she made herself appear. Maybe there was a reason his father chose her to be his queen.

"You're a bigger idiot than I was thinking if you think a joor like you could defeat me." He spoke. "Now get up."

Lia rolled her eyes and rolled over. Alduin grabbed her from her bed.

"Hey, let me down, you asshole!" She hollered. He snickered as he was trying to carry her outside. "What are you doing?" She looked at him.

"You're about to learn your second shout." He smirked at her. He walked over to the balcony.

"You fucking asshole!" Lia was digging into his shoulder and back for dear life. "Don't you dare!"

He managed to get her to loosen her grip and drop her. She screamed.

"Fein!" She shouted, becoming ethereal as she hit the ground.

He raised his brow. She either knew that shout already or she was being guided by his father. He followed suit, jumping off the railing and shouting. He landed and Lia looked at him. Despite being transparent, he could see her facial features.

"You didn't know I knew that one. It saved my ass a few times when we stopped Lord Harkon." Lia was trying not to smile. "Show me something I don't know."

Alduin raised his brow. So she did want to learn.

"Who was Lord Harkon?" Alduin asked.

"Serana's dad. Crazy bastard wanted to put out the sun. May he rest in pieces." Lia shook her head.

"Fair enough." Alduin handed her a shovel. "Try swinging at me." Lia looked confused.

"Are you sure?" Lia raised her brow. Alduin nodded. Lia grabbed the shovel and swung at him.

"Zun haal viik!" Alduin shouted, the shovel flying out of Lia's hands. She looked surprised.

"Try to use that shout." Alduin said, as he picked up a chair.

"Zun haal viik!" She shouted. The chair flew into a flower bed, knocking it over.

"That was fast." He then shouted, "Tiid Klo Ul!" Time slowed down and it was kind of funny to see Lia's face trying to make an expression but not doing it fast enough.

Time returned back to normal and Lia took a deep breath.

"Wow, that was actually pretty cool." She tucked one of her bangs behind her ear.

"You think so?" He asked. "What other shouts do you know?"

Lia turned, looking at the other size of the yard. "'Wuld nah kest!" I shout, quickly flying myself over to one spot. "That one comes in handy during combat."

"Wow, Lianna, didn't know you'd be up so early." It was an elderly woman looking at Lianna.

"Nonna, I didn't expect to see you this early in the morning." Lia walked over to her with Alduin walking behind her. The woman resembled Lia a bit but she had long gray hair and tan skin.

"Well, I was going to drop off some fig cookies for you and the others but then I heard all this shouting and I had to see what was going on." She spoke.

"Well, I'm here now." She spoke. "Who's this handsome gentleman?" She was eyeing him.

"This is my friend, Aldin." Lia replied to the woman.

"Well, then, I have to go to the nursing home to go give my condolences to Beatrice Giovanni's late husband. Although no one will be mourning that old hag." The woman handed Lia a box. "See you later, honey." She spoke to Lia and left.

Lia opened the box.

"Oh yay, fig and snowberry jam cookies." She looked thrilled at the inside of the box. His mind flashed back to Aemma looking at the starry night with delight and joy in her eyes. "Did you want one?"

Alduin snapped out of it. She was not Aemma, she would never be. The cookies did look appetizing.

"I guess I'll take one."
