We had traveled outside of Castle Volkihar to Solitude, the capital city. We had ran out of supplies and despite most of us being Nords or Atmoran descended, we were getting sick. Severine had not come back since our last fight. I wondered if she meant to stick to her word or not.

"I used to see the top of the Palace from the castle when I was a little girl." Serana spoke wistfully.

"Back when dragons still roamed Skyrim." Odahviing earned himself an elbow to the ribs. Alduin was trying not to laugh. It's strange seeing him emote something instead of anger or annoyance.

"So what are we doing exactly?" Lydia raised her brow at me.

"Gathering supplies, getting information and all that stuff." I looked back at her. We probably should have gone to the College of Winterhold.

I purchase some food from a vendor and offer some to Alduin who takes a bite.

"That's not bad." He spoke, wiping his mouth with a napkin.

"Anyway, is anyone else worried about Severine, you know, being gone?" Bryan asked.

"Yeah, makes me think she was bullshitting." I sighed. I shouldn't have trusted her. Suddenly, the sky turned dark green. People looked around confused.

"This isn't good." Odahviing backed up. A giant portal opened and out emerged Miraak and those weird tentacle monsters. People were either taking pictures for social media, gawking in horror or freaking out.

"This world has changed since I laid eyes on it." Miraak spoke, looking at us. He then looks at his monsters and the crowd. "Kill them all except for the dragons and the girl."
Severine appeared as well. The monsters started to attack. Serana charged a spell in her hands, Bryan and Lia had weapons drawn and the dragons looked like they were ready to start to shout. Severine was staring at me.

"Severine, bring the girl to me." Miraak spoke. "Leave her unharmed."

Severine looked at me and then at Miraak.

"Fus ro dah!" She shouted, knocking him off the building into concrete.

"Kill Miraak!" She shouted at the monsters behind him. Miraak's golden face had cracked to reveal a tanned face. He had salt and pepper hair, his eyes were glowing green and he had black veins all over his face as well as burn marks.

"You'll pay for this, Lianna!" Miraak shouts in my direction, sending me flying through a storefront.

"Fein!" I shout, making myself transparent. Paarthurnax shouts at Miraak, setting him ablaze.

"Oh, look at you, trying to slip into my uncle's good graces again!" Miraak uses some kind of elemental bolt on them. Serana casts a ward over him.

"You did this to yourself, Rynhek!" Paarthurnax hollered, shouting Frost Breath at him. Miraak hissed, making a growling noise.

"Do not call me that!" He yelled, creating some kind of spell that sends Paarthurnax flying.

"Lia, repeat after me!" Severine looked at Miraak. We both do the Whirlwind Spirit shout and use elemental bolts against Miraak. He responds by using the Dragon Aspect shout and shocking both of us. Lydia manages to get a blow into him, splattering black blood everywhere. Miraak groaned and looked at all of us.

"You will regret the day you were brought into this world!" He uses a shout none of us have heard before. It slams us into the walls of the city. Ouch.

"What was that?" Bryan asked. We look around to see downtown has been decimated.

"I will rule Tamriel and none of you can stop me!" Miraak shouted.

"I don't think so." I summon Auriel's Bow from my pack and load it. Miraak throws a greater ward up but Alduin manages to shatter it with a shout I've never heard of before. Serana casts an elemental bolt in Miraak's direction. More sleepers ascend on us but Bryan and Lia have taken health potions and are in the middle of fighting the first few ones.

Blood is puddling under Miraak but he seems unfazed.

"This is not over!" He shouted again, looking at us with rage in his eyes. He then looks at Severine who has just cut down three sleepers by herself.

"And you, you will die a traitor's death!" Miraak shouted something and the portal closed down. Severine was covered in sleeper blood and looked rough.

"That was a lot." Severine sighed. Seemingly, she's on our side.

"You're telling me, I'd be dead if I was hanging around a bunch of mages." Lydia responded, smiling at us.

"Same here." Bryan shook his shoulder, trying to dust off the concrete dust from his clothes.

"What was that?" Some Dunmer girl asked us. A few Argonians and some Bretons were running towards us.

"It's a Daedra worshipper!" A Breton man exclaimed.

"You must be the Vigilants of Stendarr!" An Argonian woman exclaimed, looking thrilled.

No, but we're a merry band of misfits. A Dragonborn, two warriors, a vampire, three dragons and me....an Aedra, apparently.
