Severine was surprisingly less bitter now that she had somewhat regained her sanity. She had shown me how to enchant armor with soul gems. Normally, using someone's soul to power up my tools would make me feel sick but for the time being, I had bigger things to worry about. Like Miraak trying to destroy the world my friends and I live in.

My mother had called me earlier to check up on me.

"It's been a hot second since we're heard from you. We heard what happened in Solitude, is everyone okay?" My mother asked, looking nervous.

"Yeah, just annoyed that this keeps happening to us." I sighed, shaking my head. Alduin passed by with his hair in a braided halo. I turned around.

"What happened there?" I raised my brow at him.

"Your friends did this while I was asleep." He responded, setting down lunch on a table. "Hey, Ms. Avenicci."

"Hey, Aldin. Nice hair." She responded.

"Thanks." He turns away.

"Anyway, I have to go. The pharmaceutical rep just got here and I have to set up lunch for the office. Love you." My mom says.

"Love you too." I respond as she hangs up. Alduin hands me a tray of venison stew.

"What love does to a man." I smile at him.

"Quiet." He's trying not to smile.

"I wish this wasn't going on." I put my hand to my forehead. "I'm tired."

"I know." He responded gently, sitting beside me. "I worry for you."

The castle started to shake rather violently. "Um, what is going on?" Serana, Bryan, Lydia and Severine ran into the room. A Seeker burst through the wall of Castle Volkihar. It threw a blast at the group. Severine cast greater wards on them. Serana threw spark spells at it. Lydia and Bryan started to fight it with battle axes.

Alduin shouted Marked for Death at it and I cast elemental flare on them. Severine yelled, "Hit the top of its head!"

I grabbed a Nordic battleax and smashed it into the Seeker's skull.

"Well done, for a bunch of mortals." A voice spoke. It was Miraak, sitting on the chair I had just been sitting on, eating my food.

"Damn, you messed up the castle first and now you're eating my food?" I responded, annoyed.

"I do as I please. I see Severine has adjusted well." He looks at her.

"Of course I would." She has her arms crossed.

"Unfortunately," He puts the bowl aside. "I can't let you get in my way of my plans." He shouts, giving himself Dragon Aspect. I repeat the shout and summon a Flame Atronach. The others get ready. He dodges various blows and manages to throw Odahviing off the tower.

"Odah!" Alduin shouts Become Ethereal and jumps off.

"You're weak and you will lose." Miraak throws me against the bookcase. Serana tries to stop the bookcase with telekinesis but Miraak throws a flame spell at her. She screams in fire.

"Serana!" I shout, shaking the building. Severine runs to pull the bookcase off but Miraak uses the choking grasp spell on her. Paarthurnax manages to stab Miraak in the abdomen. Miraak slightly lifts his mask to throw up blood. He grabs Paarthy and starts to beat on him. I tried to stop him but he hit me with a paralyzing spell.

"You sorry excuse for a father!" Miraak shouted, making the building tremble. Lydia had managed to put Serana out as Bryan and Sevy were fighting another Seeker. Miraak then threw an Elemental Blast at them. Serana and Lydia screamed before they fell down.

"SERANA!" I shouted, the tower trembling. "LYDIA!" I ran to them. They were both gone. Lydia to Sovngarde and Serana to Coldharbour. I wailed in agony, knowing I'd never see them again, knowing what my closest friend was going to go through again.

"What have you done?" I looked at Miraak, feeling hatred and rage go through me. I shouted Fire Breath at him. Paarthurnax looked at him. Miraak screamed and was able to set up a ward. I shouted the ward apart and shouted Frost Breath at him. He was trying to cast when I used telekinesis to snap his hands apart. Miraak screamed in agony. I then used the Draining spell Serana taught me.

"I'm going to fucking eat your soul!" I shouted. Suddenly, the sky grew dark and a portal opened. Miraak looked at me, frostbitten, burned and injured.

"I'll be back for you, Lia Avenicci!" He shouted. I then noticed a black shadow behind me and a roar. I turned around to see Alduin back to his regular form. I shouted in sheer rage, not at him but the castle. I fell to my knees, sobbing hysterically. Lydia and I had been friends since daycare and Serana was my friend since I was twenty. We had saved each other so many times but not this time. Not this time.
