The Last Soulmate

28-Dovah

We arrived where dragon Miraak was. He was by the Hist Tower. 

“Just one more and this world will be destroyed.” He was talking to someone. He was full of what seemed like small sticks and arrows. The Argonians were fighting him and his Seekers to the best of their ability. 

“Hey, Dragonborn!” Severine shouted. Miraak turned to face her. 

“Fein!” Severine shouted, jumping off of Paarthurnax. Paarthurnax instantly went to attack Miraak. They were shouting Fire and Frost Breath at each other. Alduin and I landed. I used some Spells to help the Argonians fight the Seeker and Dremoras that were gathered around us. 

“You fools think that you can stop me?” Miraak looked at us. One of his horns had broken. 

“I don’t think that we can. We can stop you.” Severine shouts Fire Breath at him. He shouts back and tries to bathe her in flames but she puts a ward up. Paarthurnax had a chunk of wing in his mouth. There were a few scales falling off of him. 

“Fus ro dah!” He shouts at Severine, making her hit the tree. She groans in pain and the tree branches push her back to the battlefield. 

“Sorry..” She trails off as she brings back a few dead Dremora to fight Miraak. I slice through Dremoras with the Magic Sword I summoned and I proceed to throw a few elemental blasts at Miraak. Paarthurnax shouts as Miraak tears a chunk of his flesh. Miraak latches to his throat. He starts to shake him violently. 

Paarthurnax’s head detaches from his neck.

“Paarthurnax!” Alduin shouts, crawling to his brother. There's swirling lights and I see Miraak’s wounds healing.

"No!!!" Severine shouts Dragonrend at him. Miraak shouts in pain and is withering. The Argonians take the chance to hack him to bits. Severine uses Fire Breath. Alduin runs to him, tearing his other wings. Miraak clamps to Alduin’s neck but Alduin snaps his neck. 

Miraak shouts something that creates an explosion. 

Alduin falls, sliding on the marshy land, crushing a few people in the process. 

"Alduin!" I shout, trying to run to him. I see Severines charred corpse fall to the ground. 

"Sevy!" I shout, running to her. I feel something pick me up. It's Miraak!

"No!" I shout in horror. "No!" 

"It's a shame Alduin is out cold. Maybe we should wake him up to a reminder of the good old days." Miraak crawls to him, blowing fire on him. I panic, feeling my heart threatening to beat out of my chest. 

"No!" I try to get out but I can't. 

Alduin is half awake when Miraak uses Fire Breath on me. It feels so unbearably hot and it hurts to the point I can't scream. Then nothing.

Alduin fully snapped to consciousness. Miraak let out a shout and he heard Aemma. No, Lia screamed. Alduin slammed him to the ground, tearing the dovah's chest plate. 

“You’ll pay for this!” He shouted Fire Breath and used his meteor shout at him. Miraak was laughing. 

“At least this Lia knew you loved her.” He grinned. Suddenly a golden flash blinded Alduin. As he opened his eyes, he saw a white and gold dovah, smiling at him. 

“Hey, I guess we finally look like each other.” She spoke with tenderness in her voice. 

“What? That doesn’t make sense! You-” Miraak got Fire Breath to his face again. Alduin stomped on the dovah’s head and crawled to Lia. She was beautiful, both as a dovah and as a human woman. 

“Let’s kick his ass.” Lia shouted to the few surviving Argonians and to Alduin. Miraak got up, wounded and bleeding. 

“I will end this world, one way or another!” He shouted Fire Breath at Lia, only to be met with Unrelenting Force. He was slammed into a tree and coughed up blood. The last few Argonians left managed to sever the cartilage of his knees and his ankles. 

“You bastards!” Miraak shouted, looking at us with beady yellow eyes. “You will not end me! All of humanity is already dead, as are the elves and most of the beastfolk.” 

“Well, you’re right on that. But unlike you, we all get to come back.” Lia shouted Dragonrend at him. He withered, shouting in pain. Alduin bathed him in flames and the Argonians gave their last effort by spearing him and pulling him towards the Hist trees. He shouted Fire Breath and Lia shouted Frost Breath. 

Miraak smacked his tail to the Hist Tower. The world started to shake and the ground began to open. He definitely was not going down easy, Alduin thought to himself. Suddenly an army of Dremora and Daedra ran towards them. 

“Even if I die, the world will no longer be the same.” Miraak was laughing and coughing up blood. Alduin looked at Lia.
