My mother gently stroked my hair. My little brother looked at me.

"You look like a zombie." I let out a chuckle.

"Julian!" My mother looks at him. "Apologize to your sister!"

I chuckle.

"It's fine. But if Julian doesn't do his homework and keep his nightlight off, maybe I will turn into one and eat his brain." I pretend to eat pieces of him while tickling him. He laughs.

"Stop, Lia!" I stop tickling him. There's a knock on the door.

"Come in!" My mother says. It's my dad with what looks like pizza, wings, and breadsticks. He sets the stuff down on the table and then hugs me.

"I'm glad you're okay, Lia. We were worried about you." He pulls away. We split up the pizza and start to eat.

"So what happened?" I asked them. Maybe they could tell me what happened after the car crash.

"Apparently, there were some Argonian kids racing on the freeway and the cops were trying to get them but one lost control of his car and ended up in your lane. His parents gave us their insurance information. He's in intensive care and they said that you had a concussion and a lot of bruising. We got the call a few minutes after the crash."

At least they told them on time. Then I thought about it. I was probably out of commission for at least a week and I knew those hagravens would make my life in the labor and delivery ward hell when I returned. There's a knock on the door and it's the doctor.

"Hi, is it Miss Lianna Avenicci?" He asked. I nodded.

"I'm Dr. Beck and it looks like your x rays came out fine. However, due to your concussion, you should be out of work for a week and light duty for two." Dr. Beck looked at his clipboard.

"That sounds....okay, I guess." I sighed. I might have to get a better job at some point. I'm just not sure when or if I'll even find it anytime soon. If they work me the way they do already with a concussion, things won't end well.

"Don't worry, Lia. We'll help you as much as we can." My mother held my hand.

"Thanks, ma." I smile at her.

"We'll be keeping you for another night to make sure that everything is okay but you should be discharged tomorrow afternoon or tomorrow night. And of course, we can set up an appointment for you to see your primary care provider." Dr. Beck said.

"Thank you." I told him. He nods and walks off. I get to see myself in the mirror of the sink in the corner. My nose is broken, my left eye and cheek are swollen and bruised. My lip is split at the bottom and I have a huge bruise on my forehead. I'm not that pretty to begin with, but I've looked a lot better.

"Oh, stop looking in the mirror, Lia. You are still the beautiful young lady we raised." My mom gently places her hands on my shoulder. I sigh and continue to eat my pizza.

He was about to lose his mind. Alduin, the World Eater, firstborn of Akatosh, and the god of time, was stuck in a void. The Dragonborn had defeated him with the help of the first heroes. He had lost his physical body and gotten wounded badly.

Alduin had no idea how long it had been since he'd seen the sun or the stars or anything besides the void. He would mostly sleep, sometimes he'd scheme of what he would do when he was back in Nirn and sometimes he would think back on his life.

Alduin thought of the times his brothers and him were flying around, racing each other. He thought of the Divines when they assigned him his role as the World Eater. Alduin thought of his beloved Aemma, the first time he laid eyes on her. He thought of his traitorous brother and his equally traitorous son, Miraak. The one who had murdered her in front of him, just to spite him. Then of course, Aemma herself. Nothing had made his heart as much as hearing that she never did love him. That she was simply afraid to reject him and was in love with Rynhek the whole time.

Finally, the void became white and a golden dragon stood in front of him. It was his father.

"Have you thought about what you did, Alduin?" Akatosh spoke to him. His condescending tone and the way he spoke those words pissed Alduin off.

"I am not a child in need of learning. I am your firstborn and the ruler of Nirn." Alduin spoke.

"Even with centuries in the void, your arrogance has not left you." Akatosh sighed. "You are the World Eater but this world still has a long time left to exist."

"Then why did you take me out of there?" Alduin was not sure what his father wanted with him.

"I need you to help someone."
