We arrived back at Castle Volkihar, with Severine in tow. She hadn't said anything besides a groan when I pulled out glass shards from her arms. Alduin and the dragons were discussing something in Dovahzul and Serana was trying to find Severine something to wear besides thousand year old rags.
"It's not the best but it will do." Serana gave her a black band shirt and rainbow leggings. Severine was washing her face off in the bathroom by the alchemy table. She looked even younger without face paint.
"So do you know what Miraak's world domination scheme was?" Bryan asked her.
"Miraak wants to rule the world like any megalomaniac worth his salt." Severine shook her head. "He destroyed Hermaeus Mora, so I'm going to assume that he now has the power to leave Apocrypha and do as he pleases."
"That's kind of obvious." Bryan responded. "But how did he manage to destroy a Deadric Prince?"
"Wait, what?" Paarthurnax asked, his face turning pale.
"Miraak ate Hermaeus or some shit." I look at him.
"What have I created?" He placed his hands on his head. "Fuck."
That was the first time I heard him curse.
"What do you mean you created?" Serana raised her brow.
"Miraak is my son." Paarthurnax sighed, looking defeated.
"Was his mother crazy?" Severine asked, raising her brow.
"Renna, no. She was very serene and calm." Paarthurnax sighed. "I think the power got to his head. And of course, maybe he felt guilty for what happened to Aemma."
"I doubt he feels anything." Alduin spoke up.
"Aemma? I've heard him mention her in his dreams. Or nightmares." Severine sighed, shaking her head.
"That's delightful." Odahviing sighed, loosening his shoulders slightly. "The girl's been dead for thousands of years and he still can't leave her alone."
Alduin looks at Severine.
"So, dovahkiin, what's the big plan?" He asked her ever so casually.
"I don't think he really plans on ruling the world. That's what he tells the idiots that follow him. I think he wants to destroy it. Miraak plans on pulling a Mehrunes Dagon and brings the plane of Oblivion and Nirn together." Severine crosses his arms.
"Oh boy. What has he done so far?" Lydia asked Severine.
"He plans out bringing down the Towers. Or better said, having the Seekers do it for him." Severine sighed. "He also wants to destroy Martin Septim's statue to finish off the job."
*************************************************************************************************************
Alduin felt annoyed. Miraak really wanted everything he had, his girl, his power and now his role.
"I guess he wants to be the new World Eater." Severine sat down on a chair.
"I'm still here so, I wish he'd try." Alduin spoke.
"So where are the rest of the towers?" Bryan asked. I'm surprised he's paid attention so far.
"Let's see the Adamantine Tower, Green-Sap Tower, Snow Tower and I think that's it." Bryan spoke, looking at a book from Serana's family library.
"That's three towers we have to reach before the Seekers and Miraak do." Lydia looked at Bryan's book.
"The first one would be the Throat of the World. Brings back, memories, doesn't it, Alduin?" Severine raised her brow at him. He remembered. How he thought for a moment that she was Aemma for a moment only to realize she was not.
He turned beet red in shame. He had gotten used to this form but he still did not enjoy it. At least as a dragon no one could see under his scales.
"So I guess we should get ready to go there." Lia walked to the room. She had dark circles from not sleeping.
"We should probably rest a night so we can make the trip." Serana suggested. "Well, at least the humans." Alduin and his kin didn't need to sleep and neither did the Daughter of Coldharbour.
"That's fair." Lydia left for her room and so did Bryan. His brothers left for their rooms. Lia was looking at a book.
"Do you think that she was Aemma?" Lia looked up at him.
"For a time. But they're different. Just like you two are different."
"What happened after she defeated you?"
"I went back to my father." Alduin looked at the staff enchanter. "I was stuck in a void I couldn't escape. I had time to reflect on my doings. I was angry that I couldn't escape. Then my father told me I needed to help you."
"Me?" Lia looked confused. "Why?"
"Well, he said that I needed to...since you are meant to be my queen, Monvokrii." Alduin saw her expression go from confused to shocked to kind of happy.
"I guess...we were meant to be together all along." Lia smiled at him tenderly. "It only took me, what, thousands of years to show up?"
"Millions." Alduin smiled back at her. "But you're here now."
