Briars grunted in pain as the sudden brightness burned his eyes. He was pushed down two one knee, and looked up to continue the fight only to see Sorsa's sword tip at his neck. Any move he made would be his last. Grunting in anger, Briars shoved her sword away from his face, "That wasn't a fair fight!!"

Sorsa snickered and said, "No? I won fair and square! You're just angry that I actually beat you the past three rounds in a row!!"

"No! You cheated!!"

Sorsa, now angry, sassily asked, "And just how did I cheat oh wise Elvin warrior!?"

"That sword is a cheat!"

Sorsa almost burst out laughing. "My sword!! You're blaming my sword for you losing!?!"

Briars, still completely serious, growled back, "Yes! That sword is a cheat! It's such a bright color that when the sun hits it it's blinding!"

Sorsa was stunned. That's ridiculous!! He's blaming MY sword for him losing!! "Any sword can blind you, Briars. That's what metal does when the sun shines on it!"

"I know, but you're sword is worse..."

"That's preposterous!! Come on guys, help me out here." Sorsa turned to the other three elves standing outside the circle. Although they were all in the big tent, and it was a cloudy day, Sorsa could still clearly see their expressions. They all looked uncomfortable, looking at each other and promoting the other to speak. Finally Diece stepped forward and said squeamishly, "Briars has a point. Your sword is blinding......"

Morn put his hand on Diece's shoulder to silence him and said, "What he means is: we have all fought you with your new sword and it is difficult to do so."

Now Sorsa was confused. "Difficult? How?"

"When the sun hits it it blinds you, and you suddenly can't see it anymore. Not just because it blinded you, but also because, when you can see again, it's almost as if it's invisible." Tamarack stated bluntly.

"There! See!" Briars said triumphantly. "You blind your opponents before the fight even begins. These sparring sessions are to help you improve. If you blind us before it even begins, you aren't improving!"

"So, your telling me that the color of my blade is a problem," Sorsa stated annoyed.

"Yes!!" Briars said in almost complete anger now.

Well I personally believe it is greatest color in all of the realms that have ever come into existence!!! Airn interrupted. He flew in from the hole in the top of the tent in his bright white parrot form.

Sorsa smiled at his comment. The elves looked at each other like they were children who had just realized they had just made a huge mistake. Airn landed on Sorsa's shoulder and they smiled at each other. They were going to win this argument, and they knew it. The elves had never beaten Sorsa in an argument, and they had just insulted the color of one of the most powerful dragons in existence. Sorsa's blade was made from her dragon's egg, and the elves had just insulted his color...

It was Morn who dared to enter the abyss first. "Yes, the color of the blade is most beautiful, but...."

But what? You said my color was a problem! What else do you need to say!? Airn asked fiercely.

Morn backed down slowly. Diece was the next to venture. "We did not, by any means, mean to insult you......"

"You called that color of MY dragon a liability in battle! How is that not insulting?" Sorsa asked with a hidden smile. They were winning.

It was Briars that interrupted. In his annoyance he blurted out, "We were only explaining..."

Explaining that you could not defeat Sorsa in battle with her magnificent blade! Which is the very color of my beautiful scales! Do not blame a blade for your losses!! It is dishonorable and a poor excuse for your mistakes! If you can not see the blade, watch her movements! If it blinds you, use your other senses! You have almost a hundred years more experience that Sorsa and you are whining like children!!
