CHAPTER EIGHTEEN | DIMPLES

Lorenzo didn't even get to take a step into the manor before Sergio stepped out, steam practically blowing out of his nostrils from anger. To say that he was caught off guard by Sergio pressing him against the door was, perhaps, an understatement.

He found it... cute.

Lorenzo could easily snap Sergio's thin matchstick arms. Their muscles were incomparable, after all.

"What the fuck did you tell her?"

Despite Lorenzo's few words, he didn't know what he'd told her. With Natalia, he didn't even notice the time running. He could stare at her lips all day.

"Why the fuck did she quit her fucking job?"

It made no sense to Sergio. Everyone knew that Natalia had practically sucked up to the Rousseaus her whole life. She'd idolised Elizabeth Rousseau in all the years he'd known. He'd made fun of her because of it and now she'd quit after spending her entire youth taking odd jobs for the Rousseau family to build her resume. She'd spent an entire decade working for them, averaging forty hours a week whilst she studied business. Yet, she still managed to be at the top of all classes, somehow.

"What the fuck did you do?"

Lorenzo grinned. Whatever he'd done, he was proud.

No one deserved Natalia.

Alas, Lorenzo could be one selfish motherfucker at times.

Natalia was priceless.

Even a fucking idiot would know that.

The more he found out about her, the more priceless she became and the more he wanted her exactly where she was.

"The Rousseaus are threatening to pull out of the deal now."

Lorenzo scoffed and pushed Sergio off him. He couldn't care less. They were easily replaceable. Irrelevant. They weren't Natalia, after all. "Natalia?" Where's Natalia?

"In your room," Sergio grumbled, glaring at Lorenzo. "But I wouldn't go there if I were you."

Lorenzo raised an eyebrow, tilting his head.

"She's depressed." She refused to eat, refused to step out and refused to talk with anyone. He'd even sent Luis up to try and talk with her but she simply locked herself in the bathroom, not even exchanging a single word with anyone. And unlike Sergio, she seemed to like Luis.

Scoffing, Lorenzo ignored him and walked right past him up the stairs.

He'd take his chances.

It was evident that Natalia had won the hearts of his staff, everyone whispering about her and her gentle nature. It seemed as though Sergio hadn't been the only one who was worried. Even Pepe appeared worried as he stood before the wing in hesitation.

"Finally," Pepe sighed, the circles under his eyes deep from worry. Natalia had been his responsibility after all and he knew the consequences were dire if she continued this charade. Despite having known Lorenzo for years, even Pepe feared the man at times. "Could you have been any slower?"

Lorenzo ignored him before dismissing him with a simple gesture of his hand. It wasn't until everyone had left that Lorenzo finally entered his wing, carefully closing the door behind him before leaning against the doorframe, his arms crossed over his broad chest. Despite how gentle he'd been, she seemed to have caught the sound of the door closing.
