CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE | SOLUTION TO STRESS

Natalia could tell something was bothering Lorenzo. He looked more tired than usual, more tense and more angrier. The latter was difficult to spot because whenever he was with her, he always had a faint smile on his face, never going to bed without kissing her lips.

Natalia didn't have commitment issues but when it came to Lorenzo, she always second-guessed everything they were doing. After all, her project was doing well and they were already constructing the hotel while Lorenzo and her fucked like a pair of rabbits.

She was leaving Colombia in a few months to find work.

Lorenzo was surprised to see that Natalia was still awake when he walked into his bedroom after a lengthy day of work. These days, he worked eighteen hours if not twenty-one. Some days, he didn't even get enough time to sleep.

"Talia," he whispered and a second later she stood up and pulled him into her arms. "What is it?" Lorenzo pulled her in closer, playing with her hair, twirling it around his finger.

Natalia pulled slightly back, resting her chin against his chest. "I'm not hugging you because I'm upset. I'm hugging you because you are."

Lorenzo tilted his head. I'm upset?

Natalia rolled her eyes, her lips pouting. "I'm trying to be thoughtful, you know."

Lorenzo chuckled and draped his arms around her and shook his head at her. He wasn't upset.

"Are you sure?"

Lorenzo nodded, a hum leaving his lips.

Natalia squinted her eyes at him, not believing a single word leaving his lips. "What liquor do I have to give you to get you to spill?"

Lorenzo laughed and pulled out a bottle of dry whiskey, pouring himself a glass and offering her one. Natalia accepted simply out of solidarity. She'd probably end up drunk before him, however.

"Sit and explain."

Smiling, he took a sip and sat down on his black couch, letting her straddle his lap and dip his fingers into his hair as she massaged his scalp. "Work."

Rolling her eyes, she huffed. "I know that already."

He tilted his head. What do you want me to say then?

"Why?"

He shook his head. You don't wanna know.

"But I do."

His eyes squinted at her, a breathy moan leaving his lips. Mierda, that felt good. Shit.

"Tell me."

He glared. Alright. "Stone," a breathy sigh left his lips. "My ex's new fiancée."

Ex? "How did you manage to have a relationship when you rarely talk?"

Lorenzo glared, his fingers digging into her hips. Really now?

A giggle left Natalia's lips. "What about this Stone guy? Is that his name?"

Lorenzo shook his head. "Arturo Stone," he corrected. "Stefano thinks Jason Cabot is behind your kidnapping-"

"Jason?" Natalia laughed. "No way."

Lorenzo tilted his head, squinting his eyes. And how do you know him?

Natalia rolled her eyes and rubbed his temples, causing him to close his eyes and part his lips. "Jason," she started, "is my ex."
