I exit Mr. Lowe's room, searching for my next class: Music. The receptionist that I talked to, via email, told me that it was required for every student to take 2 art electives.

She gave the choices between art, drama/theater, a poetry class, or music. I gladly chose art and music.

I go to the locker that the same receptionist assigned to me, and I put all of my binder in there. I grab my next class's binder, shut my locker, and try my best to hurry to my next class. As I walk down the halls, my eyes land on a few girls staring at me. I quickly duck my head down, trying to evade their gazes.

The bell rings for lunch, so I gather my stuff and make my way to the cafeteria. When I arrive, there is a long line stretching from the register to the outside of the busy room. I step into the line, waiting till it's my turn to order food.

Fifteen minutes later, I've grabbed my food: a slice of pizza, a bag of chips, and a soda. I wait in the line for another five minutes until I'm at the front of the register.

"$5.75," the lady says.I fish in my pocket for a $10 bill. I hand it to her, and she gives me back exact change.

"Thank you," I say, walking away to locate a seat. As I search, I notice bright blonde hair and grey eyes from across the cafeteria. I quickly make my way over to where she is sitting alone, and I sit down in front of her.

She looks up at me from her tray, puzzled.

"You looked lonely," I say, "also I don't have anyone to sit with." I laugh nervously at my last statement, but thankfully, Danielle smiles and nods, signaling her approval. She takes out her lime green pack of sticky notes and a pen. She writes something down, then slaps it in the middle of the table.

But you're the talk of the whole school! Everyone is just dying to "get a piece of that man meat", it read.

I chuckle, "Have people really said that about me?" She laughs and nods. "That's pretty weird actually. I was an outcast back at my old school, so it's kind of weird being noticed all of a sudden."

She writes down another note.

If you don't mind me asking... Outcast?

"Yeah, um... I didn't have any friends, no one talked to me, I was just someone people would ignore."

You don't seem like an "ignored" kind of guy at all. You seem like you actually belong "out there".

Danielle takes out another sticky note.

Unlike me.
