After I texted Danielle, I went straight to my aunt and told her she said yes.
"Okay, so 6 o'clock next Friday. Do you want me to cook anything special?" she asks.
"Italian?" I ask.
"Yes! I can make my homemade lasagna and bake some bread sticks!" she says. She grabs a piece of paper and a pen from our junk drawer. She begins writing a grocery list, putting various food and seasoning items.
"Why are you smiling?" Aunt Crystal asks.
I didn't even notice I was smiling until she asked.
"Um... I guess I'm just happy she said yes," I say, my cheeks rising in heat.
"Aww! My nephew has a crush!" she starts squealing like a 14 year old girl, "I just can't wait to meet her!"
After writing a few more things down, she then walks outside to the garage, where my uncle works on little projects.
My uncle has a hobby where he hand makes boats, clocks, rocking chairs, basically anything that can be made from wood.
I asked him when I first arrived why he makes them. He replied, "It's relaxing, helps me forgot my worries."
I understood him when he said this, because Danielle does the same thing. She makes me forget, and that's why I moved her in the first place.
To forget.
