jonas: I hope you have a fun time with Jessie, while I'm stuck here at school without you.
me: lol. You'll have fun somehow.
jonas: Mmm-hmmm...
me: Don't you be sassin' me girl. I know where you live.
jonas: : ) Text you later. Art is about to start. Bye!
me: Bye. : )
I slip my phone back into my pocket.
Today, I'm taking Jessie out shopping for the day. We've arrived at the town's local mall, and I'm waiting for Jessie to come out of the dressing room to show me a dress she's picked out.
"Okay, I'm coming out," she says, stepping out of the dressing room.
Jessie looks stunning in the dress she's chosen: a red flow-y dress that has thin straps.
I unlock my phone going to notes. I write down my opinion.
'I think you might want to pair it with a cardigan, considering that the straps are probably too thin for school. But overall I LOVE IT!'
"Really? You like it?" she asks, turning around to face the full length mirror.
I hand her my phone again.
'Yes, I do. It looks gorgeous on you. Does it fit you right though? Not to low or high? Fits in all the right places?'
"Yep! So can I get it?" she asks.
I nod my head.
"I'm going to go back and change so we can pay for it," Jessie says, walking back into the dressing room.
I pull out my phone, going through texts that I haven't checked. One of them was from Mom.
mom: I hope you both have a safe trip! I love you both, and don't spend too much, okay?
I reply to her.
me: We love you too, and we won't. I promise.
"Ready to go?" Jessie asks, making me take my eyes off the screen.
I nod my head and extend my arms, signalling that I'll hold the dress. Jessie hands it to me, and we're off to the register. We wait in line till it's our turn, then we approach the woman working behind the counter. I hand her the dress, and she rings it up.
"Would that be all for you today?" she asks. I simply nod, swiping Mom's debit card and pressing in the pin. The woman places the dress in a bag, handing it to Jessie. "You have a nice day girls."
"You too," Jessie calls back.
We walk out the door of the shop, ready to buy more clothes.
After visiting a couple more shops, Jessie and I are both carrying at least 4 bags each.
Jessie made me try on a few casual dresses, considering that she only sees me wearing sweaters and leggings. I made sure to get dresses that were long enough to cover my scars, so Jessie, Mom, and or anyone else couldn't see them. And after trying them on, I ended up buy 2.
"I'm hungry, can we eat?" Jessie asks.
I nod, grabbing her shoulder firmly as we get to a much more crowded area. We get to the food court, and I let Jessie pick the restaurant.
Panera Bread.
We order, and sit down at a booth near the back.
"I need to start getting your birthday gift," Jessie says, "it's only 2 weeks away."
