I make my way through the doors of Morriston High. My backpack has all my books and notes for the long day ahead of me. I trudge my way to my locker, grabbing my binder for my first class.

Last night I had another nightmare, and I couldn't go back to bed once I woke up from it. I tried taking some over the counter sleep aid medication, but it didn't help. It doesn't stop the nightmares from coming.

Danielle's birthday present is in my bag, waiting to be revealed to her today (even though it's 2 weeks before her actual birthday). She has no idea that I've gotten her a signed copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I saw it at a Books & Books for a little over $60. It was a lot of money for a book, but I know how much Danielle loves the Harry Potter series and J.K. Rowling herself, so I took the liberty to buy it for her.

I take the hardback book from my backpack and put it carefully into my locker so I don't wreck it. I shut and lock my locker, looking for Danielle.

I plan on giving her present to her after school, and it's going to pain me to keep a secret like that to her for that long.

I walk back up the hallway, stopping at Danielle's locker. She hasn't arrived, so I wait for her.

A few minutes later, I see the blonde bombshell in front of me, with a bright smile on her face. Then there's a beep from my phone.

dani: Good morning!

"Someone's in a great mood," I say.

dani: And someone looks like they haven't been sleeping again.

Danielle looks me directly in the eyes.

"I'm fine," I say, "I promise. They're just nightmares. They'll go away."

She gives me an 'are-you-fucking-serious' face.

"If they don't go away, I can always try dreaming about you," I say smirking.

A blush creeps onto her cheeks. She unlocks her locker, pulling out her books and a notebook. She locks up her locker, and we start walking to class together.

In class, we've been working on our math project. Danielle and I have our question, and I've asked 75 people their answer. Now, we're just finishing everything up.

Danielle sits in her usual seat beside me. Class begins, and Mrs. Johnson walks into the room.

"This week will be the last week to finish the project," she says to us, "I'd advise you to have the project on my desk by Thursday afternoon. Now, you may begin."

I pull out the folder of everything Danielle and I have done. I open it up, taking out the sheets of paper that have our graph and information on them. Danielle takes a few of them and looks them over. I do the same with mine.

"Do you think we have everything completed correctly?" I ask her.

She nods her head, eyes still fixated on the papers.

"Do you think it's neat enough?" I ask.

She nods her head again.

I put the sheets all together again once we've checked over them. I put them all in order, put each hole-punched hole through a piece of metal, and close the folder up. I write my name on the front, and Danielle writes her's.

"I'm going to go turn this in for us," I say, taking the folder to Mrs. Johnson's desk.

"Are you done Jonas?" she asks.

"Yep," I say, handing it to her.

She takes it, flipping through a couple pages. "Excellent!" Mrs. Johnson says.
