"You know if you're tired you should just take a nap." The blue headed knight had his hands on their desk beside theirs. "If you're too exhausted too go home then perhaps I could carry you?" They groaned slightly and looked up at him with a hardened glare, their eyes heavy from constantly working. "Cut it with the chivalry captain. We both know you just want a favor for favor deal." They hmph'd and crossed their arms as they leaned back in their chair. They yawned tiredly and started to doze off slightly before being harshly woken up by a kick to their chair, followed by a small chuckle from Kaeya. "How are you going to tell me you're fine and then begin dozing off while someone's talking?" "Simple, your voice is boring." He laughed before spinning their chair around to face him.
"If I'm so boring then how about we go back to my place and I bore you to sleep? Hmm?" They scoffed and flicked his head before turning around and going back to writing. With the Windblume festival quickly approaching all the knights were caught up with work. Jean and (reader) were two of the knights who had the most work. With Jean being the acting grandmaster of the knight and (reader) being the overseer of public affairs the two had plenty of work. But Jean was able to work quite effectively under pressure, The Captain of Public Affairs could not and was also cursed with having Kaeya bugging them all the time.
"(Reader) are you listening to me? You really need a nap or something." He sighed and crossed her arms, his eye picking up their anxiousness. The way they fidgeted with their pen, how their eyes darted around the room and lost focus easily. How they fidgeted with their fingers or tapped their foot. Even Kaeya was starting to find it hard to still be upbeat and laid back in their presence but he decided to still try. "I have an amazing idea how about-" "if you seriously propose I sit on your lap, I'll kill you." He laughed softly at their remark and that glare of theirs but continued to insist. "Come now, threats won't help you sleep now will it?" He sat in their chair across from their desk and crossed his arms. That look of his slowly broke them down until they sighed. "Fine, but only for a little while. I won't allow you to distract me from my work." They stood up before stumbling over to him. They sat in between his legs with their own legs over his knee. Kaeya wasted no time in wrapping his arms around him and burying his face into their shoulder. "That's my snowflake. Always so good for me." They simply ignored him and laid their head on his chest, the sound of his heartbeat pulling them into a deep sleep almost immediately. He noticed this and couldn't help but chuckle as they slept in his arms.
"My goodness would you look at the time. You've been sleeping for almost an entire hour straight. I think I'll take you home now." With some finagling and lots of carefulness he got them onto his back before beginning to walk out of the Knight Headquarters. Some people stopped in stared but didn't say anything. Decorations were being put up for the upcoming festival and the streets were quite quiet. He couldn't help but admire how beautiful they looked in the glow of the setting sun. He opened the door to their house with his spare key he definitely didn't still from them while they weren't looking and plopped them onto the couch. From the moment he had opened the door they had woken up but still wanted to be carried. "Kaeya?" They sat up tiredly only to be pushed back down and a blanket thrown at their face. "I'm too tired to take you upstairs so I'm afraid you'll have to sleep on the couch." He pulled the blanket over them as he started taking their shoes off. They were slightly surprised by the way he was taking care of them. "You're staring at me. Is everything alright my dear?" He joked softly before pulling them to him which caused them to get slightly embarrassed and avert their eyes. "It's nothing just thinking."
"Oh? Were you thinking about me my dear? If you were there's nothing to be ashamed about. Lots of people think about how beautiful I-" He was cut off by their lips being gently pressed against his own. He chuckled at their boldness but kissed them back, putting his hand on the back of their head and sighing softly into the kiss. When they separated from the kiss he smiled and kissed their head. "You know I would've asked before kissing you? Wouldn't you think it'd be nice to have you do the same?" He hugged them to his chest and breathed in their scent. "Sorry. I just didn't want to wait anymore" he laughed at their little apology and kissed their head. "It's okay. I don't mind. I was planning on kissing you for awhile." He laid on the couch with them before running a hand through his hair and sighing softly. "Just go to sleep. I'll be with you until you fall asleep"
The two slept all night and Kaeya kept his promise, staying with them all night until they awoke. They shuddered slightly at the cold wind blowing on their back and the cold human being next to them. "Your Cryo vision sucks. It's making me cold." He yawned before squeezing them. "I'll just cuddle you harder. Go back to sleep it's too early." (Reader) weren't quite ready to get up either but their knight uniforms were uncomfortable and he was squeezing them too tightly.
"I'm gonna kill you."
