Andy held the box of gear in one hand, and the wet clothes in another. The sun was just striking the middle of the sky, and it was partially cloudy all around. A soft breeze raced through his hair which was still partially stuck together from the water.
He had forgotten the clips in his hair that gave his bug-like appearance in his hair. He had forgotten them a couple of times because they were not visible. He couldn't feel them either, since it stuck perfectly against his hair and didn't pull or tug at his hair.
For a reason he couldn't explain he just didn't want to be anywhere but school. He knew Mr.Aizawa's class saw him as equal, excluding a select few. The teachers knew him by name and he knew they thought highly of him. He had science next, and they were focusing on biology, which was his favorite subject. The next period he had art with Shinso, who he knew would cheer him up and whom he hasn't seen since the festival.
He thought for a second as he walked down the road against the U.A. wall. Was he really equal? Constantly people are trying to make it seem like he's equal, but he's the opposite. He's quirkless and isn't equal in any way other than the fact they are both human. He shouldn't even be in U.A. or even be trying to be a hero at this point. He's a vigilante and should have been expelled as soon as they found out. The only reason he's still there is pity, and he should have been turned away in the first place.
The only reason he was still there was purely because everyone felt bad because he was quirkless. He wasn't supposed to be in the school, nor should he even be chasing the title of a hero. His reasoning is so selfish compared to everyone else. Some wanted to save people, others wanted to support their families or continue their heritage, but he just wanted to be famous. Famous that the small population of dying out species was seen as equal. Based on what some believed, he was going extinct anyways, so it shouldn't even matter what he does.
And so what anyways? Even with all of that, he can't even beat a single person in the class. Todoroki still, after all of his hard fighting, wiped him with the floor. Bakugou easily caught up to him and the class beat him with each of them not giving him room to breathe. He's spent years learning how to beat villains, outrun and hide from heroes, and so much more, yet it still isn't enough.
And the worst part is, he had the villains from USJ stalking him for a whole day. He couldn't even save himself from villains, and he couldn't listen when he was told to run away. He should have listened to his mom when she said it was dangerous. He shouldn't have listened to Will when he said, "I think you'd make an amazing vigilante!" Will was the one who told him he was equal in the first place and the one who taught him the basics of fighting and running. He was wrong for telling him the hopeful lies. Quirkless don't belong in the world of quirks in the first place. He's disabled, and his disability wasn't something he could ever improve on or work around as others could. He was born a mistake, a defect, he was anything but a hero.
"I'm just stupid for believing I belong here..." He muttered as a warm tear rolled down his cheek. He covered his face with the hand holding the clothes and he wiped the tears that rolled down his cheek. It's been a while since he's cried, but it felt good in some way to accept what he's been denying. The water running down his quickly started running down his hands. He couldn't understand why so many tears were coming from his face, yet he didn't bother to stop it. No one would care to stop his tears either if they ever cared. All the times he went running home from his peers chasing him down the street, or the times he's had tears barreling down his eyes and they never took a second glance at him.
"Hey, Andy!" Someone called out from behind, "You alright Lil' Listener?"
Andy's head snapped back to meet Mr.Yamada with his hand in the air and a smile on his face. The teacher was far off, but he could still see the look on his face and his school uniform being doused in tears from a distance. He wanted to hide that his smile faded away at one of his student's distresses. He hadn't seen him upset yet he knew a quirkless kid wouldn't show it in public. The smile faded before he forcefully pulled it back again, watching the kid who made himself realize who he was through the tears.
