Francesca's: POV
I was in my room bored out of my mind. Winging through the TV guide trying to find something good to watch, it was Friday evening it's been two days since my doctor's appointment. After finding out l won't be able to walk again, l'm trying not to let get me down and listen to the advice my parents gave me but nobody understands what l'm going through. I called Maddie on the phone to see what she was up to, we talked for a while, Maddie asked me when I was coming back to school. I told her probably next year, Maddie's been my best friend ever since we were in third grade. Then Maddie said she had to go somewhere with her mom, after we hung up, l start thinking about what my Gram said. Maybe l can ask moms can I invite Maddie over for a sleepover, it's been awhile Maddie's been over to my house for a girls night. I pushed myself up in the bed and slide over into my wheelchair to go ask my mom's if Maddie could come over and spend the night, l wanted to know what was going on at school since l've been gone. I wheeled myself out the door, and I saw mama laying across the couch looking at a movie. Mama where's mommy at Francesca asks, oh she went to the grocery store to pick up a few things
Are you feeling alright mama asked me because you've been cooped up in your bedroom practically all day. Mommy and I know your upset about the prognosis from the doctor you received the other day. Mommy thinks we should get a second opinion possibly, so she scheduled you for another appointment at a different hospital. Which is located in Los Angeles California, their supposed to be the best hospital in the country they have an excellent pediatric surgeon named Dr. Altman is the head surgeon who specializes in situations such as yours. We fly out in two weeks, but you know your mommy wants to leave next Thursday
So we can do some sightseeing first. She's likes to get a early start on things ahead of time. Mama said
What about my school work Francesca States, your mommy cleared it up with your tutor. She's going to send all your assignments to your email, so you won't miss anything while we're gone Stef besides think of it as a mini vacation a week away from the house with your dear old mother's Stef explains. It does sound like fun, l need to make sure to pack my digital camera so I can take lots of pictures Francesca gleamed with excitement. Stef was happy to see her baby girl smiling again, hopefully this trip will do each of the women and Francesca so good
They had a family vacation since Francesca was found, Francesca missed her other best friend Mariana who leaves in another state. just as Francesca was about to say something the door bell rings, Stef gets up from the sofa to go answer the door. Francesca went into the kitchen to get a cold drink from the refrigerator, Francesca could you come in here for a minute please Stef calls out to Francesca. Coming Francesca said
