surviving my first Day

Stef's: POV
After completing a twelve hour shift at the hospital l was free to go home. I went into the ladies locker to retrieve my things so l could head home for the evening, all l wanted to do is have a long hot shower eat a little something and sometime with my wife before she heads to bed. I didn't feel comfortable showering in the locker,
I walked down towards the elevators the automatic doors open up. I stepped on to the elevator taking it down to the parking garage, to think l have to do it all over again tomorrow morning. I was able to get my schedule, my new hours was going to be from 3 to 11:00 pm and l would work every other weekend. I heading to my car unlocking the doors and got in buckle up my seat belt before starting up the engine
I stuck the key into the ignition and pulled up the parking space, and drove through the busy streets of LA. Something must be happening in town, for there so many people to out. Thinking the best route to take to get home, so l jumped onto the expressway. It was very little traffic
I'm wondering how Lena's day went
I remember her telling me earlier she and Francessa were going out to the mall, Frankie's best friend Maddie is due to come over on Saturday to spend the night. Hopefully my wife stopped by the grocery store to pick up some groceries, Lena was always pretty good at keeping the house stocked up with plenty of food and bare essentials. It didn't take me long to arrive home, l turned down the familiar road
I drove up to the gate and pressed the three digital code that opens up the gate. I passed on the through, l parked my car behind Lena's. She left the porch night on so l could see when l stuck my key in the door to unlock the front door, l enter in the house
Stef went straight towards the kitchen seeing the little note in Lena's handwriting
Saying my food was in the microwave. I quickly washed my hands with soap and water, then heated up the dinner prepare
While my food was heating up. I moved over to the fridge to see it was stocked up,
I took out a bottle of cranberry juice. Placing it down on the table, l went over to the drawer to get a fork and knife. We're still getting adjusted to our surroundings
Gps has helped out a lot giving us directions
to where we needed to go, l knew it would take time to get use to the neighborhood. We were the only ones who had a single family home. All the other houses we looked at were connected to each other
The microwave beeps, l walk over to take my plate out and it was steaming hot so l knew l had to be extra careful. Stef decided to sit at the breakfast nook, l laid the napkin across my lap and begin eating this lovely meal Lena cooked up. I was so engross in my food that l didn't hear somebody come down the stairs, mama l thought it was you when l heard your car pull up. How did your first day go at the hospital Francessa says as she grabs a glass to filled it up with chocolate Milk from the fridge, everybody welcomed me with open arms. It wasn't so bad despite the time going by slow, Stef knew Francessa doesn't sleep well at night since her abduction almost a year ago her daughter struggled with insomnia. Francessa took a seat beside Stef and drank her milk, did you enjoy your mall trip with mommy yesterday Stef inquires. Mama you should have been there, the mall was huge it makes the one back at home look small. Mama we caught a lot of sales in every store we shopped in
Mommy brought me a few things, but overall we had a really good time. We went to the supermarket and got enough groceries to last us for two months, mama we went to three different stores Frankie fills me in on her Day with Lena. All l could do was smile, well babe you know you're mommy likes shopping in more than place.
Stef said to her daughter, momma you missed an awesome basketball game tonight the Chicago bulls and the clippers played. I recorded it for you so when you have time in your schedule you can watch it on the DVR, l believe there's another game coming on Saturday. The Charlotte hornets are playing against the LA Lakers
