The waiting game

Stef's: POV
Lena and I are in the waiting room for Francesca to come out of surgery
She's been back in the operating room for thirty minutes. Lena's pacing back and forth, l know she's worried and l am
We barely gotten any sleep last night
Dr. Altman hasn't come out with an update on how things were going, l know she said she would have to reset the hip bone
We explained all the risks involved the last time we were here. This is a parents worst nightmare, she's already gone through so much more than any child has. We were told Francesca could be in surgery for one to three hours, mom flew out for support
I have tried to get Lena to eat something
She told me that she wasn't hungry her nerves always seem to get the better of her at times. I'll be her anchor when times are rough like l always had, what could be taken them so long how long can it take to pop Francesca's hip back into place. There's no telling what's going on back there Lena said to me, baby you need to calm down
I know you're frustrated but we have trusted the doctors Stef says. The last time we put our trust in someone they lied and told us our daughter had a stroke when it was totally bull shit, l believe they gave her something to paralyzed her Lena States
Stef never thought that they could have injected Francesca with some medicine
That could have been temporary unless she was giving a double dose enough to cause paralysis. The hospital is under a full investigation, the detectives are questioning all the staff. Somebody knows something our lawyer has already started the process for the law suit, l don't think l can work at a place where  innocent children fall at the hands of people who pay no attention. This whole ordeal has caused me to reevaluate things, l took a oath as a doctor, this is poor negligence
Nobody has bothered to call and ask how we're doing. That goes to show me they don't give a damn about me and my family
It feels like Time was going by so slow
The doors of the operating room open up
I stand up on my feet and Dr. Altman comes over to me, l was hoping Lena would be back from the bathroom by now. Well doc what's the word on my daughter Stef asked Teddy, everything went exceptionally well we needed to reset the hip. I believe Francesca will make a full recovery, she's down in the recovering room resting so you can take her home in a few hours. Just make sure she keeps going for physical therapy Francesca should be up on her in two to three months tops Dr
Altman tells me, you don't know what it means to me and my wife Lena that you have given us the answer to our prayers
How can we ever repay Stef States. It's what I do l've dedicated my life in helping children just like Francesca she's one strong young lady you and your wife should be proud to be raising such a strong willed daughter after everything Francesca's been through hell and back most parents would have giving up hope but you guys hung in there and never gave up. Now I need to go check on my other patients feel free to call me anytime with any questions or concerns you may have
Teddy replies then she walks down the hallway. Lena is walking towards me
Was that Dr. Altman who you were talking to, Lena asks me. Baby Francesca's surgery was a total success the nurse should be out soon and take us to see our little princess
Stef said, are you serious so everything went okay Lena was so overcome with emotions she began to cry. We both did
I gave her a hug, things were finally looking up for once despite all the trials and tubulations we had to go through
I believe this has made us stronger
As a whole. I'm so thankful for Dr. Altman and her team, now we have to get through this hearing. Then we'll be able to relax
