Kane shrugs. "If you hang around for a couple of hours, I can drive you over." He doesn't care how long Hannah stays. She can stay forever. His house has already been invaded by one pest.

For a beat, Kane debates telling Hannah to remain in the office. He won't waste his time. If she's going to stay, she'll have to get used to their normalcy.

As Kane departs the stuffy room, Hannah shadows him with a sudden nervousness that makes his body thrum with tension. He hopes she doesn't continue acting like this for the entire time she's hanging around. It'll make him go crazy.

He grips the matchbook tightly in his hand and walks up the few steps that lead into the shop's main foyer. Only to stop midstep at the sight of Reid, smiling brightly with an elbow resting against the countertop and a fist pressed against his cheek.

"You had two customers," Reid says while clicking a pen irritatingly. "I had no idea what they were asking for, but they ended up buying stuff anyway. And now I know what mogswart is for. Disgusting."

Kane narrows his eyes. "You actually did work?"

Reid leans back, forgetting he's on a stool, and almost falls. He grabs the edge of the counter just in time, or he'd have been on his ass, recovering with a wide smile that's so bright it's blinding. "Sorry, Kenneth, I won't be needing you anymore. I'm super competent now."
