The view from the rocky shore is beautiful. Across the dark expanse, lights from the city twinkle and shine, cutting through the darkness. Near the tips of her shoes, the dark water of the lake ripples. Hannah always found herself beckoned to the darkness of the night district; for years, the yearning to lose herself was almost too strong at times, but now, her feet are firmly rooted, her attention captured by a much more handsome visage.
"So...you're immortal?" Hannah asks, gusts of cool wind slapping her hair against her cheeks. Her gaze strays over her shoulder to the white siding of the motel, with it's bright lights, where bugs fly around wildly, searching for the fallen sun.
The motel is out of the way, but clean. The man running the desk with a goatee was nice, even though they all looked half-dead after coming from a murder. She's pretty sure Reid's busted nose started bleeding, staining the little rug in front of the motel check-in desk, but the man paid no mind.
They had a pick of the rooms. The clerk had told them that due to a bombing in the city, presumably at the auction, they're not allowing anyone to leave the night district without an extensive search of their vehicles.
Either Lucas wants nothing to do with them when it comes to a bed, or he's strategically taken the corner room upstairs in case of trouble. Hannah isn't thrilled to be sharing a ground-floor room with a giant masquerading as a man and an even bigger pest, but she has to admit she's afraid to be alone right now.
