I'm still here!
⁂⁂
"And suddenly life was not about living, it was about surviving."
The ride was brutally quiet; no one was ready to speak, so we just sat there, overly consumed with our thoughts. Sometimes, I don't even notice when I'm being quiet, there was so much going on in my mind that everything seemed loud. Everything seemed obnoxiously vibrant and even the sound of my tiny heart beat was drown out by the incessant noise.
At that point, I wasn't even disturbed by the agonizing pain anymore, all I wanted was to know that the rest of my friends, Bo-Ra, Ha-Na, Il-Ha, and everyone else, were unharmed.
Jang-Soo sat next to me, pressing his hand against my wound, and occasionally checking on me when he heard my moans and groans.
"Fu**k, where is the other car?" Hee-Rak finally dared to ask. "Shit, don't tell me we are the only ones who escaped."
I switched uncomfortably in my seat upon hearing his words. There's no way they are dead? Right? No, no way!
"No way! They must be behind us." Tae-Man denied, and I couldn't help but be thankful and relieved that he did. Because hope is the only thing that's getting us surviving currently.
"I wonder if the shelter is safe, the shelter our parents are in." Jang-Soo abruptly stated sounding sad, and I right away regretted not asking him how he was feeling. after all, despite his strength, he is still a human being.
I wished I was able to reassure him that everything was great, that our parents were fine, and that the sanctuary was secure. But I couldn't, not when I myself was unsure, so I just took his hand in mine and interlaced my fingers with his in a way that is comforting.
Soon-Yi started sobbing for the tenth time today. Jun-Hee told her to stop crying because it was getting annoying.
I sighed and snuggled in closer to Jang-Soo; my eyes grew heavy, and I shuddered, feeling cold. The others resumed their conversation, but I was too dozed to differentiate the words they were saying, so I just ignored them.
As I gave up to my fatigue, I got shaken when I felt the vehicle turn around, losing balance, yet I was too dizzy to determine whether that was a hallucination or reality and then darkness took over my senses.
"Su-Jin!"
"yah kim Su-Jin!"
"Babe! Come on open your eyes."
The many voices calling for me were the first thing I encountered as I began to regain consciousness. But just as I tried to open my eyes, an intense beam of light struck me and I swiftly closed them again.
"Yah! You guys are so loud!" I whispered raspily, and I felt them sigh relievedly. Did they really believe I'd die this easy? I felt two sets of hands attempt to set me up, and I was finally able to open my eyes and caught Jang-Soho's worried ones "Oppa, I'm gonna need a hug and six months of sleep after all this." I said to him and he only smiled nodding.
"Yah! You scared the hell out of us!" I looked up at Su-Yeon and I smiled slightly.
"Yeah well guess what! You are not getting reed of me anytime soon so..." I said jokingly.
"Ah ! I think I liked the unconscious version of you better." Soo-Chol said and I sent him a deadly glare.
"What happened?" I asked once I noticed the flipped car.
"A sphere attacked the driver, but we killed it." Kim-Chi said and then quickly added as he noticed my frightened expression at the mention of the sphere, and I visibly relaxed.
"Let's get you up!" Jang-Soo said, and I nodded, but he abruptly stopped as I screamed in pain holding my stomach after they began to move me.
"Are you okay? Let us have a look." Yeon-Joo asked me and then started taking off my gear.
"Shit!"
"Oh my gosh."
"Gosh!"
When Yeon-Joo removed my gear, exposing the large bloody circle on my shirt, everyone jumped in shock muttering different things . I myself was taken aback by the sight; it appears that my injury was that serious after all. Then Soon-Yi yelled, frightening everyone, but I became too consumed with my pain to pay attention to her.
Suddenly Jang-Soo placed my hand in his and started tugging my hair away from my face. I forced a smile as I met his stare since I didn't want him to be concerned about me, and knowing him, he'll undoubtedly blame himself for my condition.
"Will Su-Jin be okay?" Kim-Chi asked Yeon-Joo considering she's studying to be a medical assistant. But she only stayed silent unable to answer the question. Everyone understood her silence and looked away, including me.
Well nothing will be okay if I continue to bleed out my entire bloodstream like a freaking ruptured balloon.
