Stiles is sat on the sofa with a box on the living room table. The box arrived that morning and was filled with the books he ordered. He had opened the box with excitement until he saw the books and then he remembered that he would actually have to pick which one he would read first and then he got unnecessarily anxious.
After playing a game of eenie meenie minie mo, he picked up a book on magic users. He was hoping that one of these books would have some sort of information on sparks. After Emily said that a new spark to protect them, he has been wanting to know what a spark is and who they are meant to protect.
He assumes that Emily meant that the spark is supposed to protect witches and if so, who are they supposed to be protecting the witches from? Protecting witches from vampires? Or from another witch trial? And thinking about sparks always leads Stiles to wondering why Emily looked directly at him when she said it.
Stiles isn't a spark...right? Surely Stiles would know if he were a spark. There would have been some sort of sign. He briefly thinks about how he was able to command Vicki to stop and she did and how when he told Damon to stop the man momentarily did. Stiles shakes his head, that was just coincidence, there is no way that he was able to actually control vampires.
Anyway, Stiles is reading through his new book on magic users, and he is learning a lot. According to the contents section there are more magic users than just witches. There are witches, druids, mages, warlocks (male witches), and apparently most fae have magic of some kind. Stiles remembers seeing a book dedicated to just the fae, but he didn't end up buying that one.
Stiles is currently still in the witch and warlock section of the book; it's going over how they get their power and what they can use to boost or weaken their powers. It's explaining the difference between witches who rely on ancestors and witches who rely on nature and celestial events. Apparently, most witches use both as that gives them the most strength but there are some purest witches out there that disagree with the mixing of the two.
Stiles is so focused on his book that he doesn't hear Elena and Stefan enter the house and walk into the kitchen behind him.
"Do you think Damon really believes us? That we're both trying to help him?" Stiles hears Elena say breaking him out of his reading.
"Does Damon believe what now?" Stiles inquires as he lifts his head up and turns to stare at Elena who is going through a box filled with the old Gilbert family secrets.
"Nothing, what are you reading?" Elena asks, changing the subject.
"I'm reading up on different types of magic users." Stiles answers.
"Only witches truly exist." Stefan informs.
"Not according to this book." Stiles shrugs.
"I'm sure that Stefan knows more about what is real and what isn't than a book you got off craigslist." Elena chuckles.
"You laugh, but the book on vampires that I got was 100% accurate, plus I'm pretty sure that with regards to vampire culture Stefan is a baby vamp." Stiles points out.
"You found a book on vampires that was correct?" Stefan queries.
"Yep." Stiles says, popping the p. "What are you even looking for?"
"Just this old...what on earth is this?" Elena questions as she pulls out a wooden box with what looks to be a muzzle made for humans inside it.
"Kinky." Stiles jokes making Elena roll her eyes.
Jeremy walks into the living room and sits down besides Stiles, taking a look at Elena and Stefan.
"What are you guys doing?" Jeremy asks as he picks up a book from Stiles' box. "Werewolf mythology. Really? Still trying to prove that Tyler is a werewolf?"
