"Thanks for coming, Ric. Can I get you something to drink? Coffee, bourbon? Bourbon in your coffee?" Damon asks when Alaric steps into the house.
"Elena mentioned you needed my help." Alaric says bypassing Damon's questions.
"Yeah, we were hoping you could shed some light on the Lockwood family." Stefan informs.
"No, why would I know anything about the Lockwood's?" Alaric inquires, confused.
"Well, you wouldn't. but your dead, not-dead vampire wife night." Damon points out.
"We were hoping that you would allow us to see Isobel's research from when you guys were at Duke together because apparently my book isn't enough proof for these people." Stiles tells Alaric, annoyed.
He's been trying to convince them for a while that the Lockwood's are werewolves and they have shown all characteristics that his book has for the wolves that are descended from the native Americans.
"You said that she had spent years researching this town." Stefan reminds, ignoring Stiles' annoyance.
"Isobel's research here in Mystic Falls is rooted in folklore and legends but at the time I thought much of which was fiction." Alaric informs.
"Like that amazing vampire story." Damon points out.
"Aside from vampires, what else?" Elena inquires.
"The lycanthrope." Alaric answers.
Stiles whoops as he throws his book on werewolf mythology on the table.
"Werewolves. Like I said. This is why I'm brilliant." Stiles laughs happily.
"And modest." Damon says sarcastically. "Besides there is no way, its way to Lon Chaney."
"Is it?" Stefan asks.
"I've been on this planet one hundred and sixty some odd years, never came across one. If werewolves exist, where the hell are they?" Damon queries.
"In hiding. Which you would know if you read, they book." Stiles exclaims.
"Why do you suspect the Lockwood's?" Alaric wonders.
"Because vervain didn't affect the mayor at Founders' Day, but the Gilbert device did and it affected his son Tyler." Damon explains.
"And at the school carnival his uncle Mason exhibited inhuman behaviour when he fought with one of the carnival workers." Stefan adds. "It suggests it's some sort of supernatural entity."
"We were hoping that Isobel's research could help us figure out what it is." Elena states.
"Werewolves." Stiles singsongs.
"Well, all her things are still at Duke. I mean her office is still there. she's technically still missing." Alaric informs.
"So can we get access to it?" Damon inquires. "Ric, we need to know what we are dealing with. If this wolfman thing is true, I've seen enough movies to know it's not good."
"Yeah, like I've been trying to tell you." Stiles huffs.
"It means Mason Lockwood is a real-life Lon Chaney and that little Tyler punk may just very well be Lon Chaney junior, which means Bella Lugosi, meaning me, is totally screwed." Damon actually sounds slightly worried.

Stiles hears the honk of Damon's car from where the man child is waiting impatiently for them. He immediately leaves his bedroom and heads towards the stairs. He meets Elena at the top of them, along with Stefan and they head down the stairs together.
