Chapter 66

"This would be so much more fun if we were naked." Damon bemoans.

"Shut up and get away from me." Stiles laughs as he pushes Damon off the bed.

"Why are you so mean to me." Damon groans from the floor.

"Because that's what best friends are for." Stiles says before getting up off the bed and heading to the bathroom.

"Where's Jeremy?" Damon asks as he follows behind Stiles and finds the house empty.

"He's at the lake house, apparently despite not knowing you were here he could feel the presence of a vampire and it was throwing his hunter abilities off. Or rather it was turning them on." Stiles informs.

"Is he there alone?" Damon inquires making Stiles raise an eyebrow at him while he brushes his teeth. "Well, Jenna isn't here either."

Stiles spits out his toothpaste and turns to the vampire.

"Jenna is in Whitmore finishing up her college degree. Apparently, Elena sending Jenna off to Denver without thinking about anyone but herself had consequences for other people. Who would have thought?" Stiles says sarcastically.

"I did apologise. Right?" Damon asks.

"Yes, you did." Stiles agrees before moving to brush his hair.

"What? No morning shower? I was hoping to join you." Damon flirts.

"Don't have the energy, besides I showered last night and it's not like you drool." Stiles shrugs.

"How does Klaus and Elijah feel knowing that you're sleeping in bed with another man?" Damon suddenly inquires.

"Klaus threatened severe bodily harm if you do anything, and Elijah muttered something about being unsure how I stand you." Stiles admits.

"Elijah doesn't even consider me a threat to his relationship? I'm offended." Damon sulks.

"Shut it. What's the plan for today?" Stiles queries.

"What do you mean?" Damon questions.

"I mean you asked me about Jeremy's whereabouts. You don't care about Jeremy. Therefore, you have ulterior motives. What are they?" Stiles pushes Damon out of the way as he heads back to his bedroom for clothes.

"I got a text from Bonnie last night that creepy professor Shane has a magical theory on how to get Jeremy to not try to kill all of us. So, we will be heading to the lake house to try it out." Damon explains.

"And we are trusting creepy professor Shane?" Stiles asks as he puts on a shirt.

"No, we are going to be questioning him extensively." Damon adds.

"I assume that there will be threats." Stiles says.

"Obviously. When do we leave?" Damon inquires.

"Give me a chance to take my Adderall and then we can go." Stiles offers and Damon nods.

Klaus is standing in his painting room looking over his finished piece for the Mystic Falls Christmas charity thing happening that afternoon. He's wondering if it needs more black, but he doesn't really have enough time. Shame.

"Looks like a giant snowflake." Stefan's voice fills the room making Klaus roll his eyes in annoyance.

"I prefer to think of it as an expression of postmodernism. It's my donation to the Winter Wonderland charity event." Klaus explains.

One of his hybrids enter the room with a look of anger on his face.

"You said it was urgent." The hybrid gripes.
