Elijah is currently sat at the round table in Klaus' dining room with his siblings sitting opposite him as they both attempt to plead their case for the cure. If only they knew that Elijah, no longer had it in his possession. At least for the moment. When Elijah arrived last night, he called Stiles immediately and asked him to come over.

Stiles did as asked and found Elijah holding onto a very pissed off Katherine Pierce, much to Klaus' apparent amusement. Elijah was surprised when instead of torturing or killing the vampire he commanded her to stay in town as he'll deal with her when the time comes. After letting Katerina go, Stiles turned to Klaus and asked him to give them a moment of privacy. Klaus also did as asked which was another surprise.

Then Stiles inquired about the cure. Elijah was curious as to why Stiles would want it. The only vampire their spark is friends with at the moment is Damon and Elijah highly doubts that Damon would want the cure. When Elijah asked why Stiles wanted it, Stiles informed him that he had some thoughts and ideas about the cure and wished to get his hands on it for a bit but promised that he would give it back and not use it.

So, Elijah gave it to Stiles and his spark made an illusion for Elijah to hold onto as a replacement. Elijah was unsure why he would need it, but Stiles explained Silas and his powers, so Elijah agreed to holding onto the illusion until Stiles brings back the actual cure.

"Elijah, being human means a fresh start. I can grow old and have a family and fill my days with meaning, knowing that each one matters." Rebekah says making Klaus laugh in derision.

"Well, that was poetic." Klaus mocks.

"Well, if you can provide us with a more compelling reason for wanting the cure, Klaus, please." Elijah gestures for his brother to go ahead.

"Silas can appear as anyone. He got inside my thoughts, convinced me I was dying. He will torment me until I give him the cure." Klaus informs.

"And in doing so he will break down the wall to the other side." Rebekah reminds.

"So, it doesn't trap him there when he dies. He wants to reunite with his lost soulmate. You of all lovesick fools should applaud his devotion." Klaus tells him.

"He will open the floodgates for every supernatural being that has ever died." Rebekah exclaims.

"Including our dear brothers, Kol and Finn. We'll have our family back." Klaus points out.

"Please, you hated Kol, and you kept Finn in a box for most of his life." Rebekah snaps.

"Elijah please." Klaus begs.

"Your personal discomfort might not be sufficient reason for putting the entire world in jeopardy, Klaus. I think our sister deserves a shot at happiness." Elijah decides.

"Tell me you're joking. Tell me you're not fating me to an eternity of torture." Klaus asks angrily.

"I made my decision." Elijah states.

Klaus shoves himself up from the table and leans over Rebekah's so that his mouth is right next to her ear and then proceeds to taunt her. "When you're sick and dying and you beg for my blood, I will laugh in your face and compel you to forget me." He then walks out of the room.

Elijah watches as his sister remains impressively stoic but he can still see the shaking of her hands.

"Where is the cure?" Rebekah asks.

"Rebekah, it's no secret that you are impulsive, emotional and at times morally questionable. Prove to me this isn't just another one of your whims, that you know precisely what you are giving up here." Elijah offers.
